I'm laughing so hard right now! :D:D

This stuff is to be expected now. If you don't think so, go have your memory checked.

Just wait for a week before you update. Let the Superfans get bricked.

No issues on my iphone 6 but a friend has a 6S that got put into recovery mode.
Kinda the same here.
iPhone 5s went fine.
iPhone 6 went fine.

iPhone 6s went into recovery mode (not DFU) and iTunes did the update, a full restore was not needed.

iPad Air 2 went fine too.

Any success stories on the 5? I'm 6 minutes away from having downloaded IOS10 OTA, and my laptop is at the other side of the world if it does go wrong...

I knew I should have been patient and waited. iOS 10 update on my iPhone 6S Plus got stuck in recovery mode. Good thing I backup regularly. Yay. -_-

Don't say "SOME" phones are bricking. Everyone who did the OTA update in my office has it bricked. There is currently a line for lighting cable/itunes use.

edit: my pro won't restore through iTunes. off to Apple store.

Same here iPhone 6S asking to be plug in to iTunes but I am away from my computer, so now I have to wait to go back to the office.

Remember the time when there were 80% fewer devices out there? Yeah, those times coincide. Perfect software never happens.

More devices should lead to more investments into infrastructure and engineers, QA in general including servers, CDN etc. This is a very poor argument for such a fail. Again and again and no executives taking any responsibility.

WTF is going on with Apple's quality control in their software? Ever since iOS 7, it has really gone down the toilet (7.0 was a disaster on iPads). You'd think with the public beta program, things would go more smoothly. But the iOS 9.3 launch was also plagued by bugs. Sad to see things slide so badly in the last few years.

In order to keep their secrets, they push a bunch of stuff into the update at the last minute before the gold master goes out. This is stuff that was never released in a beta. They have been doing this since forever. Somehow the new Apple thinks doing that is good for Apple, but we know its bad for customers, which does not seem to matter to Apple. If Tim Cook understood the business he would be going ballistic right now, but alas, he does not have a clue, after all it only effects a hand full of MacRumors readers.

my guess is its server overload problem and now with iOS 10 itself since we didnt have this problem with the GM.

I just checked out Apple Supports Twitter feed. Holy smokes. This is bad...

What is it with this company??? They've done enough beta testing so what do they they do to cause this and why do they release an update they should have tested so thoroughly that this should not happen. One feels this is now a company that just doesn't give a damn as long as those tills keep giving them those coins!

iPhone 6s Plus 128.....damn, now have to download update via iTunes 2.47GB, which I don't have on my work computer. Never going to trust over the air update again. Wonder if any of my files/settings/etc will still be there???

OMG, started the "UPDATE" and said there was a problem downloading the update. Started all over again. Have to wait 20+ minutes for update to download.

Update, the download is taking 3 times as long now. still have 44 minutes left to download

Don't know whats worse, if Apple's incompetence or people whining because they risked to update on day 1, considering Apple's current QA record throughout the year, some of you have proven to be very smart, congrats!

What the heck is wrong with APPLE! Why does this even happen with all the testers? I don't get it.
