numbers don't matter, there were already millions of iOS devices before this update even existed. Ther have been other more stable releases where the numbers of devices was already huge. Once the sample gets to that point it becomes more or less the same in terms of % expecting an issue.Remember the time when there were 80% fewer devices out there? Yeah, those times coincide. Perfect software never happens.
actually had this problem on my 6s updating to the gm via itunes, tried 3 times til i decided to go back to ios 9Strange because many of us did the GM upgrade from the PB and used OTA and there was no problem. It will be interesting to see what the RCA shows.
Apple said "Make backup before install news software version" why the people don't do it???
Some of us are complacent because we have never had an issue with OTA. This is my first time ever having any issues with an iOS device update. So that is why we "risk" it. And the option isn't always available. For me, I am away from my computer, I never had an issue as I mentioned, so I bit and took the risk...
I remember I had my first iPhone before I had my first computer. Nowadays that is less common but it is still something they would need to consider... Especially from those consumers who aren't tech savvy, and have no idea how to reboot and restore their products.
shut up theres clearly a problem too many users reporting it noob
Why would you do a big update on your office? lol
I don't even do small ones outside my apt.
Just stopped it updating OTA in time after reading this scary stuff!
How do I delete the installation file?
This has always happened even before Forstall was fired. Cut the Jobs crap.Terrible. Apple really is doomed. Steve honestly would never have let this happen. This isn't the first time. Bring back Scott Forstall.

NOTES
What's happening?
The OTA update version might be corrupted. The update will download completely, verify prior to install, go into the Apple update screen, then crash into the "Plug into iTunes" screen. The update bar went as far as about 75% - 80%.
Who is affected?
So far, only iPad Pros, iPhone 6S / S+ and iPhone SEs have complained of corrupt installs. All of those who have complained used OTA updates, so it may affect more.
What do I do?
1.) DO NOT USE OTA UPDATES - it's the most common culprit in the bunch. Avoid it like the plague.
2.) IF YOU ARE UPDATING, USE USB + iTUNES. Those who have been successful have used the iTunes download. Slower, but working.
3.) IF YOU ARE BRICKED - Plug into iTunes and use "Update" to clear out your problem. You don't need to do a full restore, thankfully. I've done a simple update and everything worked swimmingly.
Perhaps all the execs could have this tatooed on their foreheads to remind each other that customer experience made Apple.....
