What apps are you talking about?
I don't get the Optimize Storage option... You choose a minimum amount of storage to be used? What does that even mean?
And you can get rid of most if not all of those now.Mail: I use CloudMagic
Music: Spotify Family Plan
Maps: Google Maps
Watch: I have a Black Withings Steel/Brown Mondaine Helvetica Light im happy with, never getting an Apple watch
Game Center: do not play games on my phone
Notes: I use OneNote
Tips:
Stock: Not my job - get a report at end of year
News: I have a NYTimes account (see Stocks also)
Health: I use Withings
Books: Kindle/Audible
I have them all in a folder - can not remember the last time I used them.
Bought a Fire on Prime day because it was $33 - why not to try it out. Profiles are awesome. Apple should get on that ASAP.When will they finally add profiles to the iPad? I'd like to be able to switch to my own profile and be logged into all the facebook connected games and have all my apps show up. Currently the only way is disconnect the app from facebook, open facebook and log out, log back in to my account, then open the game and reconnect to facebook under my own account. Wife wants to play some games? Repeat above process for her. Unless there's some feature I don't know about that does this?
Just deleted Apple Maps (I have Google Maps installed) and asked Siri "How do I get home?"
Siri said "Getting directions to home..." then up popped a dialogue box: "Restore 'Maps'? You followed a link that requires the app 'Maps' which is no longer on your iPhone. You can restore it from the App Store." Then a link to Show it in the App Store or cancel.
And you can get rid of most if not all of those now.

Would you recommend waiting for 10.02 before updating to Ios 10?odd, I have an iPhone 6 too and find it to be very fluid and fast. I also feel the keyboard clicks are much more responsive than they were prior.
What would you be trying to accomplish with that? The apps all together don't take much space, so you wouldn't be gaining anything meaningful from that. They aren't running or using resources in that sense, so nothing really gained there either. And they wouldn't be shown anywhere if you remove them. So, again, what is it that you are missing from that?No You can "hide" them - I want to be able to delete any bloatware that comes with the phone. By this definition no Android phone comes with Bloatware because I can hide any app from the app window also. That is nonsense.
Thanks for performing that experiment; you got the result I expected (but not the one I hoped for!).
Hopefully the ability for us to pick the default app for certain task will be in a forthcoming update.
Don't think there's a way to adjust the initials in the thumbnail that iOS uses (but it does seem like thy are in the order you mentioned--first (middle) last).I run my contact list in Last Name, First Name sort order. So I'll see Smith, John when in contacts. In the Messages app however this causes the initials at the top to be SJ. Is there a way for the initials to be JS in the Message app without changing the sort order in Contacts? Initials are usually read as first (middle) last in my part of the world.

So basically it's mostly one of those principle things than anything else. Got it.And again, manufacturer bloatware on our mobiles Is fine as long as we can "Hide" them and not use up 150megs of memory now?. It as meaningful, as me not being able to uninstall the Amazon Store on my Xperia phone, and that is only 25megs. (You can only "disable" on Android 6.0 that does the same thing as now iOS10)
And if all this is not doing anything and not "meaningful" It is more logical to simply delete it over hiding it in the file system. Im my entire professional life I have never known anyone to defend pre-install software with limited user permissions simply because you can hide it and disable background process. It is nonsense.
By the way, might want to keep an eye on CloudMagic: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/cloudmagic-is-now-newton-for-50-a-year.1995686/Mail: I use CloudMagic

I'm using the standard apple keyboard on my phone. I don't have anything else installed.I'm guessing that you're using a Bluetooth keyboard. Same issue here, and I've logged it as a bug.
Meanwhile, it seems that the Wallet and Health apps can't be hidden the same way as most of the others...
I don't have time to change bedtime each night.Go to options top left corner, click on it. Select what days you want by clicking on the letter for the day of the week.

Now that's interesting! In iOS 10 they've moved the spellcheck suggestions to the autocomplete bar, but that bar isn't present when using Bluetooth. It should be there with the on-screen keyboard though...I'm using the standard apple keyboard on my phone. I don't have anything else installed.
I believe it'll actually ask you to install back the default Maps app. iOS won't allow any other third party app to become the default one, in this case Google Maps.Serious question: if you hide a stock app (e.g., Maps) and have an alternative installed (like Google Maps), will the alternative one run in situations where the stock one would (like selecting an address in Contacts)?
Runs perfectly fine on my iPhone 6. Maybe you have too much stuff on your phone and the storage is almost full? Just a thought.I'm on a iPhone 6 and this OS is very sluggish.
Make sure you have Reduce Motion turned OFF. Settings, General, Accessibility, Reduce MotionI don't have the update message on my devices...I guess I am not allowed to have it...
I don't mind the new keyboard sounds, but I think the new Lock sounds are horrible. It doesn't fit in with iOS at all.please bring back old keyboard sound at least as an option. the new ones are crap !
