I don't know if this is a bug or intentional or what, but I noticed that since I turned on iMessages in iCloud, ALL THE PHOTOS/VIDEOS I ever deleted out of my messages are back within the messages.

I have the messages going back with my wife from the day we met and I have always deleted the photos out of the text strings but kept all of the messages to keep the file size down. It's always bugged me how iMessages saves a photo inside the message and there is no quick way to mass delete them.

And now all those photos seem back! But at least they aren't stored locally, which is what I was excited about iMessages in iCloud to begin with.

Anyone else with this error, ""Messages in iCloud not available" "Messages in iCloud is not available because iCloud and iMessage accounts are different". Before this beta, I didn't have a problem with messages in the cloud.

Looks like the blue airplay icon in the control center music widget is missing in this beta. I remember this being an issue in early betas of 11.3. No quick way to choose output device besides 3d touching and hitting the airplay icon.

My system storage was about 22GB on 11.3 final, now on this beta it has jumped to almost 40GB.. not sure what could possibly be in there. Are messages counted in system storage?
Reset and leave that screen open. On 11.3 my IPP went from 60GB to 10GB.

I’m really wondering where @sunny2k1 and @Madscotsman are.

They used to be here all the time and had really great info that was correct in contrast to some other people here.

They haven’t logged in or posted in weeks/months, so sad!
That may or may not be a coincidence. Apple tends to frown on people disclosing stuff they're not supposed to know about. While I was happy to see their info, it did appear to be based on insider info. Apple may have contacted MacRumors or otherwise found a way to cut them off.

BUG REPORTED : when adjusting volume in Control Centre the onscreen volume display appears and it should not. This behaviour should only happen when pressing the volume buttons on the side of the phone. It doesn't happen for brightness only volume.

Yup, I have the same issue here. I wish Apple would let us merge Apple IDs as that would solve a lot of issues.

You're using a beta feature, but expect it to work as intended?

I can do nothing but chuckle and shake my head on this one. WHY they still think it’s okay to have this overlay block content ESPECIALLY when there’s another volume bar right there boggles the mind. Just dumb.

He’s using a beta feature and reporting a possible bug. Quite literally the whole point of the thread

Sorry, sounded he was noting the software wasn't functioning as intended, which it likely won't - it's a beta.

Hopefully the bug was logged with Apple, versus here, so it's fixed!

Can someone test the described issues of iOS 11.3 and report back if they are still there in iOS 11.4 beta 1?
  • Widgets and search bar overlap during a call (Since iOS 11.0)
  • Emoji keyboard has duplicate emojis in the Frequently Used tab after resetting the keyboard settings (Since iOS 11.0)
  • Unlocking a device causes the keyboard to disappear for a moment if the keyboard is left open before locking the device (Since iOS 11.0)
  • App opening splash screen becomes black if you close an app, then immediately after opening the same app (Since iOS 11.3 beta 3)
  • 3D Touch Quick Actions cannot be initiated immediately after unlocking the device, takes 2 seconds waiting (Since iOS 11.3 beta 3)
  • Tapping on a notification immediately after opening Notification Center does not dismiss Notification Center (Since iOS 11.0)
  • App launch splash screen becomes black if open an app immediately after you close an app, test with 3D Touch multitasking to close app (Since iOS 11.2.5)

Duplicate emoji in frequently used keyboard still exist

Yes. I resolved it by logging out of iMessages (Settings/Messages/Send & Receive) and logging back in. Then I could turn on iMessages in the iCloud settings.

This rather looks risky. Imagine all pictures exchanged and then you delete them from your phone thinking them to be deleted forever. If your icloud id is compromised but you think you have deleted all your messages along with pictures.

On top of that, they are back from the time icloud messages was not even there. So where did apple pull back all those pictures from? Thats worth understanding. Either apple got it from their servers which is very disturbing considering they never had any feature of messages in the cloud.

If they were on your phone, its such a huge waste of storage. I have seen people with GBs worth of messages and they particularly buy a higher storage phone for that.

ios 11.2.6(iphone 7) bug still exist in ios 11.4 : Adding a new contact via the dialer in the phone app will save the contact but the contact name will not show up in the dailer.

Can someone test the remaining issues of iOS 11.3 and add the ones still can be reproduced on iOS 11.4?
one of it which I know of still exist for iphone 7

What phone are you using and how do you reproduce it? I can't get it to happen on my X.

I believe the volume slider in the control center is for media volume (ie., NOT ringer volume) and the overlay that pops up over the control center when you use the side buttons is for the ringer volume. Two different volume adjustments, two different volume indications. Makes sense to me that one pops up over the other.......

More issues with me and HomeKit on 11.4. Hue lights now go to "updating/no response" when off my home network. I really hope Apple can get this working.
