This beta is worse for me, so many app crashes and bad battery life :( . Anyone else??
[doublepost=1522845710][/doublepost]11.4 is disaster for me.

I don't know if this is a bug or intentional or what, but I noticed that since I turned on iMessages in iCloud, ALL THE PHOTOS/VIDEOS I ever deleted out of my messages are back within the messages.

I have the messages going back with my wife from the day we met and I have always deleted the photos out of the text strings but kept all of the messages to keep the file size down. It's always bugged me how iMessages saves a photo inside the message and there is no quick way to mass delete them.

And now all those photos seem back! But at least they aren't stored locally, which is what I was excited about iMessages in iCloud to begin with.
Ran into this as well in 11.3 betas! I had even gone through and deleted ALL of my message threads from both my Mac and iPhone a few months ago. When I was sifting through my iPhone storage a couple weeks ago, I found photos and videos going back over two years! Very disconcerting.

I believe the volume slider in the control center is for media volume (ie., NOT ringer volume) and the overlay that pops up over the control center when you use the side buttons is for the ringer volume. Two different volume adjustments, two different volume indications. Makes sense to me that one pops up over the other.......

Paul

You addressed the secondary part of the comment. The main issue I have with it is they still have this ridiculous overlay blocking content to show volume rather than having a slider in the status bar or along the bottom of the screen or ANYWHERE ELSE that isn't in the middle of what you're trying to look at.

No such problems here on either my iPhone 8 Plus or iPad Mini 4. Sorry it isn’t working out for you.

So I broke down and did full DFU to iOS 11.3 directly to 11.4 public beta. I installed nothing until 11.4 install complete. Did this on iPhone 8 Plus and IPP.

So far, so good. Left on LPM overnight and fully charged. Today battery life has been great. At 83% and it’s almost 3:00. 2.5 hours of usage and 5:18 of standby.

.. random but I did see the horizontal lines during reset .. which worries me a tad as the last time I saw that my iPhone was dead within days.

This is a minor change, but a welcome one. If you disconnect from wifi in control center, then turn airplane mode on and off again, wifi remains disabled. Before, wifi would reconnect after turning airplane more off.

Sigh --2016 MBP Touch Bar on 10.13.5b1 and iPhone X on 11.4b1 can't seem to get Messages in Cloud sync working. Was working with previous beta pair.

Don’t worry. At least in my own experience with using an iPhone 8 Plus, although I do occasionally spot those horizontal lines on the startup screen, thus far there really hasn’t been any further issue.

Anoyne else care to chime in on this?

Anyone else with this error, ""Messages in iCloud not available" "Messages in iCloud is not available because iCloud and iMessage accounts are different". Before this beta, I didn't have a problem with messages in the cloud.

I am having the same issue and cannot get anything done to fix this... I tried signing out of iCloud & iMessage and nothing is working! Very frustrating!!

I just had cellular connectivity issue - no cellular data despite 3 bars LTE. Airplane mode didn’t work but restartig the phone works.

I don’t know if this will help you, but I had the problem on my iPhone. I restored from the backup I made in iTunes before I installed the latest beta. That helped and I do not have the problem anymore.

Things I would like to see in 11.4:
Big battery life improvements
Even bigger Safari fixes
Probably won't be coming until iOS 12. The supposed iOS version where they fix the buggy iOS 11 mess. iOS 11.4 will just be for features they promised to be in iOS 11 that never came to be (Messages in iCloud, AirPlay 2, etc.)

Are the default messages and iCloud accounts shown the same BEFORE you resign in?

What phone are you using and how do you reproduce it? I can't get it to happen on my X.
It happened once on my 7+, but hasn’t happened again.

Especially beta 1
[doublepost=1522857059][/doublepost]I know it’s beta 1 so probably not easy to gauge just yet, but overall how is perfomance faring on 11.4?
Seems OK to me. No major issues.

The battery on mine running this beta is without doubt not lasting as long, but it’s a chuffin’ beta!! What is with all this ridiculous battery life analysis at this stage? It’s pathetic IMO.

Similar in most ways to iOS 11.3 beta 6. Battery life down a bit. Airplay 2 is the best it’s ever been!

A variety of iOS devices

BUG REPORTED : when adjusting volume in Control Centre the onscreen volume display appears and it should not. This behaviour should only happen when pressing the volume buttons on the side of the phone. It doesn't happen for brightness only volume.

WIKI updated.

I just ran into this and found that toggling “change ringer volume with buttons” on then off in sounds settings fixes it. Reported.
