let's see, priorities in my life: making a high quality phone calls reliably and without random echoes or call drops or 'can you hear me now' moments and securely, unwanted phone calls from invalid caller id's, etc.

No on my list of priorities for a phone: emoji's, unimoji, multi-emoji, ethni-emoji, photo editing, taking photos, annoying reminders, etc.

So, maybe Apple will work on what attracts us most to the iphone and stop putting megapixel cameras on them.

First: I guarantee you more people care about better cameras than better phone calls on smartphones these days.

Second: The people who work on emoji have nothing to do with the people who work on the audio or phone capabilities of the phone.

Third: No, firing the artists and just hiring more "phone people" or "e-mail people" does not fix the problem. You can't just throw more and more people at a limited area and expect that to improve things. Software engineering, at least quality software engineering isn't something you can just brute force.

But the sure can’t seem to fix the fact I have two notifications for NO REASON!!!View attachment 863182
Have you checked your voicemail?

I mean, I get that it's not that big a deal but I guarantee the number of emoji/Messages users vastly outnumbers the number of Mail users.

Now when is Apple gonna let us search all these emoji?
I thought it had always been possible to search for emojis using the keyboard? If I want an emoji of a mermaid I just type ‘mermaid’ and it’ll be the last option in the word suggestions.

“Corrects anatomy issues for Animals” is not something I thought I’d be reading as a headline for iOS 13 lol

Darn it! That abacus doesn't look anything like the ones I've used around the world.

But the bloody mosquito gets anatomical correctness!

Gosh! I just love how Apple puts so much effort into having the best emoji‘s! I mean it’s not like we actually care about the iOS.

Apple are worth a trillion dollars. I'm reasonably certain they are not short of software engineers. You can't fix problems in half the time by asking twice as many people to have a go. That is not how software development works. In fact it isn't how anything works. You don't get a thousand man-hour job done in one hour by hiring a thousand men.

Exactly. It's not like two doctors can deliver a baby in half the time.😁

For me, I like the emojis, stickers, memojis. I'm glad ios has a lighter side, for our family, it's fun.

Every. Single. Time. There’s an emoji article, you get the slew of people who exclaim something along the lines of “Stop working on emojis when there’s X bug still around!!1!”

And every single time there’s the people who explain that the team that works on emojis isn’t the same team that works on code or fixing bugs. But it falls on deaf ears.

Im a graphic designer for a company myself, and I’m just imagining my boss coming in one day to say “Hey, stop working on those images. Come fix this problem that’s deep within our complex product even though you have no expertise in the engineering field.” Lol.

that is a scary thought. and you're probably right. but i would still be able to use mail properly before emoji skynet takes over and kills us.
EmoNet! Imagine a 💩 driving a big 🚛after you while firing his 🔫.

I can’t lie. I’m enjoying the expanded selection of emojis on this forum. I do miss the little blue shocked face that used to be available. But overall I prefer the new setup.

Emojis help you get your tone across if you’re just joking or confused and might otherwise be misunderstood as arrogant or confrontational.

So, my phone should be limited to what you want in the device?

You’re right of course. I don’t know how many times I’ve looked at a comment I’m about to post somewhere and realize that I need to add /s because sometimes sarcasm just can’t come across correctly.

You bought a camera that happens to be able to make phone calls. Your definition of "us" in phrases like "what attracts us most to the iphone" may be a little faulty. I make perhaps one or two phone calls a month. I use my iPhone constantly for other communications (messages and email and such), notifications, keeping track of all sorts of information, and, yes, taking pictures. I'm thrilled with the cameras on modern iPhones.

I'd like the option in updates not to install freaking emojis!
Yeah..... & I want the L left off of my keyboard!
Let’s all get REAL silly with it and have the Unicode Consortium come up with like at least a few hundred combinations of letters, numbers, symbols & emojis!!!
Instead of now, how you can rest assured that you can message anyone on any platform and your entire message will go through- we can preface our conversations with: “Yo, do you use Unicode keyboard symbols combo #179? That’s the one I like! As long as you load up that one... we‘ll have full compatible ability to text each other!!!!.”

That really sounds the treat!

Hi, this can happen if you have deleted voicemails in the past while on Wi-Fi. It's possible that it doesn't synchronize back to the wireless provider's server, while on your device it's showing as deleted. Then something in the update process caused it to "re-see" that there are unread voicemails from the carrier's server, but you can't see the specific messages on the phone because the OS thinks you deleted them. Something like that...

First try searching through voicemails while NOT on Wi-Fi. If you don't see any there try deleting voicemails by dialing your carrier's voicemail number.

meanwhile lol , while releasing updated emojis. sure not an Apple problem but

Oooooooh..... are we playing a new twist on: “7 degrees of kevin bacon”??
I totally think if you give me a week or 3, I could come up with some kind of super convoluted diagram loosely connecting Unicode Consortium standards with Avid professional film studio software!!!!
GREAT challenge. I admire the cut of your jib, sir.
