I hope that is not the design. You don't have to impale wearers' ear canals in order to provide active noise cancellation.

Here we go again with “no, no, no! This will fall out! I am sure of it even though I’ve never tried one!”

Remember when AirPods were announced? *eye roll*

It's based on experience. I've never had a single pair of earbuds with rubber tips that weren't awful. They are uncomfortable and invariably pop out of my ears.

No no no no no no no. Literally the best thing about Apple headphones to me are that they don’t require you to suction them into your brain. I just can’t use them. Truly hope this isn’t a “new design” and instead just an option.
lack of noise canceling tech and noise isolation is literally the worst thing about AirPods. Everyone I know complains about that. I still think they should sell the current model for people that like mediocre wireless headphones though. AirPods are convenient, that’s about it. They sound slightly better than EarPods and that’s not a compliment.

Hope they keep and reiterate on the design of the original type of buds also. What I like about the airpods is the easy hook-in. I don’t want any in-ear fiddly things.

God, no, I hate earphones with rubber ear tips! They a l w a y s fall out! That's the main reason I'm using AirPods!
Precisely I won’t buy them. I hope that they offer both to cover various folks ear types. They fit funny with those rubber tips and are never comfortable to use

Seriously, why do people assume a new model with ANC will mean they immediately discontinue the current style models? I can almost guarantee they will sell these at a higher price, and either keep the current airpods around as-is or even lower the price on them a little.
I hope that is true there are many who like the original design. Rubber tips are always uncomfortable to me

Good thing I already have gen2 AirPods. I hate the shove-down-your-ear-canal ear buds. Uncomfortable, gross, and isolating. If I want to shut out the world, I don't need ear plugs, I need my QC35's.

Are these those ones that fill up in your ears like a balloon?

Seems interesting but I personally *hate* sealed in ear headphones, makes me feel really in my head and almost claustrophobic ..

even if its noise cancelling, etc.

Also- nice leak Apple!

I'm almost certain this is what they will do. The fact they released a 2nd gen so recently lends credence to them keeping them around. They'll drop these in the 250 range as the "AirPod Pro", and keep the existing AirPods around at their current price, or just consolidate the wireless version down to the lower price. Sales on the wireless AirPods have already been bringing them down to the non-wireless charging price anyway.

Yuck. in ear headphones suck. The rubber things do not fit properly and any movement gives feedback. Like the Beats X

Yes I hated my beats X gave them to my grandson who likes them

Looks like I'm returning their AirPods 2 that I bought today. I'm so happy that the rumors of AirPods 3 are looking correct, as I was really hoping for an in-ear, rubber tipped design much like Apple's in ear headphones from years back. I don't care much about noise cancellation (it always made me nauseous) but I'm glad we'll have different sizes of rubber earbuds to choose from. My Airpods always felt a bit uncomfortable after extended use.

I was about to say the same thing. Normal earphones feel like my ears have been violated 😳

Gosh, I hate them too. Yes, they cancel noise better than the current AirPods, but gosh, they're so uncomfortable.

Dangit, I just bought PowerBeats Pro 3 weeks ago from Apple and outside the return period. Don't get me wrong, I love my Beats but the only reason I bought them was because the AirPods keep falling out of my ears and I prefer earbuds with silicon tips. I would totally prefer a more compact design with compact case (absolutely love the pill size AirPods case compared to the Beats).

Wonder how much that noise cancelling tech is gonna jack up the price?!?

No thanks, I'll keep my 2nd gen. I need to hear ambient sound and suction buds would kill that feature. If I do physical activity I just use earbuddyz.
