Hmmm...the 'allow apps to request to track' defaulted to 'off'. Does that mean that they can't ask (and aren't tracking), or that they are tracking without being forced to ask?
Of my 5 devices (3 phones, 2 iPads) all but one had the setting ON. Not sure why the one had it OFF and the rest ON. If you don't want tracking and you don't want prompting then set it OFF.

They don’t have access to your advertising ID, which is what they use to track you, if this setting is off. Loads of people getting excited about annoying FB, but this option has been around (annoying FB) for quite some time. I don’t want any app tracking my ID, so I have this setting off.

Of course, big corporations have other ways of tracking you that has nothing to do with Apple’s advertising ID. They are always looking for ways of fingerprinting devices and, therefore, users.

Cover your tracks is showing that my iPad is doing a pretty good job of keeping its head down.

Not a fan of the new podcast layout at all :/ I liked it just the way it was before.
It appears that if you deleted a podcast episode they have all returned. On some of my older podcast it’s 500-700 episodes that have returned. Doesn’t seem to have an edit button where I can select a bunch at once.

This is going to take a while for me to fix.

Not sure why they removed the delete feature, and really wish they had said they were doing it because I would have waited.

Yeah seems you have to allow apps (set to green) to ask for your permission, otherwise they don't even get to beg you.

I think I want the begging, at least for a little while. LOL <insert maniacal laughter here>

Good point ! I might just download the FaceBook app for a few minutes just to see it beg 😈

LOL, then give ol' Zucky the big finger!

Was going to wait to install, but this is just pulling me in (like OS updates from 10 years ago) starting it now...

What I don't understand is, if someone steals something I own that has an airtag on it, how does airtags know if it has been stollen or "placed" on someone? In other words, it may appear if I'm trying to stalk someone instead of an item being stollen, thus the airtag will alert the phone that there is a tracking device nearby. Thus alerting the robber to find the tracking device and ditch it. I don't see how airtags will know when they are on a item that is stolen, versus being places on someone to track them. If there is not a way to diferentiate the two, then airtags are almost worthless.

I've noticed that in addition the stronger haptic when you attach the MagSafe Wallet there is also a rapid-tapping notification when the wallet is separated from the phone.

I noticed to that it only shows you the most recent episode. I have a few podcasts with multiple episodes I need to catch up on but it’s only showing me the most recent :/ kind of a bummer of a change. Have to go to each “show” to see all the episodes.

Yeah Apple specifically stated they made it this way simply because it could be abused way to easily otherwise. So yeah, it would alert a potential stealer that he's got an unowned air tag with him - but not sure how quickly this would kick in. If that doesn't happen for a couple of days then it'd still be good.

Not sure if Tag might work instead for that kind of thing.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that “City Charts” are randomly generated based on plays through Apple Music. If they took the play charts from iHeart, every chart from every city would look the same.

So… my iPhone has to have wi-fi turned on to use the Unlock with Apple Watch feature? I almost never use wi-fi, so this isn’t much of a useful feature. It means I would have to turn on wi-fi when going out with a mask to use the feature.

Changes to the Reminders app are very welcome. None of the other changes are relevant to me.

Is there a way to notify apple that their Maps app is displaying incorrect exit numbers? They've all changed in Massachusetts over the past couple months, and it's very confusing when trying to navigate to new areas.
There is a little i with a circle around it in the top right of maps. When you click it, there is a "report an issue" option and you can choose something to report, such as "navigation"

Installing now, can't wait to lock out all the trackers!

By the way, is it me, or this is the most massive .1 update ever?
Good luck with that. I have been running the beta for weeks and haven’t seen that do not track popup once! Have the switch turned on in privacy too. Only thing I can think of is my adblocker is already blocking them

Any info on whether or not ECG functionality will be enabled on Apple Watch in Australia now that Therapeutic Goods Australia have given their tick of approval (this was approved by TGA about 2 months ago)?

I was looking forward tot he feature of unlocking my phone using my watch when I've got a mask on, but someone had the really dumb idea that you need the lastest WatchOS. Big fail.

And no, don't reply with dumb statements of upgrading my watch. If it ain't broken, why spend money to have things just because they're new.
