Mine has. I turned all that crap off and when I updated to 13.6, it had turned itself back on.
What OS are you running?

(A badge on the settings icon constitiutes nagging).
If you delete the update doesn’t the badge go away? I’m trying to get rid of mine and I think I need to wait for it to auto download. But it’s taking its time to auto download. Might be a couple weeks before it actually does.

I'm seeing a bunch of widgets that don't work. Some have content that doesn't load and most don't do anything when you tap on them.

Given that the OS nags the **** out of you to update your device, this is a meaningless stat

Also auto updates, I bet some people didn’t even choose to install it

I have auto update on my iPhone and it hasn’t updated. Hasn’t bagged either.

When will Apple kill off the Other category? I think it's time the AppStore for iOS 10, 11, 12 be shut down... OR Apple should offer a compelling recycling program option. As a developer it's annoying to support two older operating systems... But if you are developer supporting more than 3 older operating systems I feel sorry for you.

It does not. The update is not on my phone to begin with.
It was. I got the notification and deleted but the badge remains.

Is this more likely related to most phone probably being set to auto-update than the user making the decision to upgrade.
Many have auto-download enabled but not necessarily auto-update. As of iOS 13.6 the ability to disable either one or both is there too. At the moment most likely haven't even received a notification to update yet as it takes some time for that to propagate through over a period of weeks usually.

That all aside, the stat that is there mainly for developers isn't a meaningless one given that it provides information as to how many devices are on various versions of iOS (it's not there to say what people think of those versions, or how good or bad those versions are, or anything like that).

I'm craving 14.2 .. would not update to 14.0 again. five-to-ten second screen response figuring out some interface loop mistake? Widgets crashing when you try to put it on home screen? An 11 Pro ought to be able to handle that. Glad they're delaying the iPad Air .. I plan to get one but with just a simple caveat. I want it to work like its designers intended.

Do not think so. Non-tech people just have auto update sure but the auto stuff never kicks in until two to three weeks after an update. My wife's iPhone for example, is never updated for the first couple of weeks after an update and she has auto update enabled.
My mother NEVER updates anything by herself and she has iOS 14 already, it installed overnight Saturday and Sunday morning I had a call asking what had happened and why were things different 😂

That's weird! Has never seen that happen to a non-techie.

It was my wife that came through to me asking what the update was all about, she would never start something herself either. I checked my phone and it was updated also.

I wonder if the difference is just everyone stuck at home now with more time to get around to things like updating their iPad OS.

iOS 14 is still a bit buggy might as well wait an update or two
As for Widgets there aren’t that many YET
and some don’t work as intended
BOTTOM LINE: No rush to download

I think iOS 14.0 is much smoother than iOS 13.1 although it is a bit of a battery hog at the moment. (I skipped the 13.0 release due to the massive amount of bugs that were announced to be fixed a few days later with iOS 13.1).

Considering the “nagging” has been there since iOS 1, the stat is meaningfull when compariong iOS versions.

I updated my wife's iphone to ios 14...she said she didn't see what was different. I did say the phone notification doesn't take over the screen. My wife runs her business from her phone. Anecdotally, to each their own.
