iOS 14 Beta 4 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Not sure if this is a 14 thing or a b4 thing but when downloading new apps, they don't go to the last app page or open spot anymore. They only go to the app library. Does anyone know if this is a bug or if it's on purpose?

Settings > Home Screen > You'll see New App download allocate options

Is there anyone who faced True Depth Sensor software issue? I'm sure there's no hardware error. Because of that, I cannot use Face ID and portrait camera mode.

Face ID setting says that move your iPhone a little lower/higher.

Device: iPhone X / iOS Public Beta 3 & 4

Did you tried a DFU? If you did and the problem is still present, it’s a hardware issue and you need to get your phone looked at. I have experienced this before and I needed to go to the Genius Bar to get it fixed.

Good morning. My Messenger App is completely hosed. Works for 1 or 2 texts after a reboot but then freezes, keyboard starts disapearing. Any work arounds? Thx

Thanks for your reply. I didn’t try DFU with iTunes. It works again if I restart all iPhone settings. (Which I don’t wanna set things from scratch)
Anyhow, I don’t think it’s a hardware issue.
Hopefully, it’ll be fixed soon. Otherwise I need to downgrade iOS version to official one.

Anyone else having their frequently visited sites randomly disappear in safari? And for some reason the macrumors URL never sticks like the forum always ends up being a „suggestion“ even though I am going to this page many times. Safari acts like I never typed in the URL before

Yup had the same issue. Beta 4 didn’t bring it back. Thankfully an erase / restore brought it back.

My Siri suggestions on share sheet no longer appear even though I have the option switched on. I don’t think I have seen them since upgrading to 14. Anyone else not seeing them?

Same thing for me. I sent Feedback for this bug.

Thanks, not sure what I did but I removed it from my Home Screen and then put it back and it seems to be improved. It wouldn’t let me uninstall it and then re-install it but regardless I may have shot now! Thanks

I can’t set recurring reminders with a custom period of 2 days. Whenever I tap on the number 2, the app crashes. It happens both on my iPhone XS Max and my iPad Pro 11 2018.

The notification badge bug is annoying

Settings or messaging or other? Settings at least has only happened in 3 and 4 and doesn't return once I fix it. Just a pain that when you log out and into iCloud, it clears your wallet. Messaging is more of an overall pain because I keep having to kill the app and reopen to see the hidden messages. That one has only started in 4.

No issues here with front facing camera/portrait mode/FaceID on my iPhone X on PB4.

I have the same problem with my AirPods Pro

Same problem for me to on Airpods Pro, when I dial out with Pro’s on, the other person can not hear me. I need to dial out from phone first, connect to person and then put on my AirPod Pro’s. Incoming calls work fine.

Anyone noticed that Siri Suggestions-widgets are not suggesting Google apps? I have it installed since Beta 1 and it never suggested me Google Maps, even though I‘m using it almost every day.

nope was just randomly on the train on Sunday and noticed that it unlocks with my particular mask on all of the sudden. Works with Apple Pay too, tried it today. its not the normal hospital mask though, it’s a handmade one with a specific pattern on it. Don’t remember the last time I opened the FaceID settings actually.

i am actually surprised it works, it also doesn’t matter how much of my face I cover, including the nose. For security matters I tried a different mask or gave the mask to a friend and it didn’t unlock.

On mine, the alarms do actually go off, but they don't make any sound or vibrate. I've restarted but it happens again the following day. Have you come up with any workarounds?

I haven't. After the first night, it has worked ever since. Sorry.

Apple is on this. I filed feedback and they’ve asked for more info and a log. Keep filing info on this.

It is suggesting both Google and Google Maps for me. And I opened Google Maps once 2 days ago to cross check directions. I almost never use it.

I haven’t really had much of a Vanishing Keyboard (VK) issue with my IPP 11 on db4 until today.
A couple of times, all in landscape mode I have had the keyboard and at times the emoji selection screen come up blank.

I’m having a similar issue. The url auto fill will just pick a website that is first to auto fill. No matter how many times a go to a website. Example would be if I want to go to cnn.com, a website I go to frequently; Safari will auto complete coin base.com, a website a went to once days ago. I’ve had this issue, different websites, different suggestions since the 1st ios 14 beta.
