iOS 14 Beta 4 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I know this is iOS 14 specific so my apologies but is anyone else testing out watchOS 7 betas? I cannot get my series 5 to show me there’s a new beta update. My iPhone 11 Pro updated to beta 4 but watch still says up to date. I have removed the beta profile and reinstalled it, restarted watch and phone a couple times and still nothing.

They didn’t fix the issue of the keyboard and Input Field disappearing yet if you swipe back ...




a work around is to disable „prefer cross fade transitions“

Verizon carrier version for iPhone 11 Pro has gone backward.

beta 3: 41.7.63

beta 4: 41.7.59

The beta 4 number here is from the wiki notes on the first page of this thread. Maybe the notes were copied over from an earlier version and haven’t been completely updated yet.

The App Store app is still crashing on my iPad Air 2 upon launch. I have to quickly tap a different category like "Games" before it crashes, trying to load the home screen of the App Store i guess. After that it somehow works for a while before I have to repeat the same steps. Oddly it does not happen on my iPad Pro

I missed 3D Touch so much. That’s why I’m upgrading to an Xs Max instead of an 11 Pro Max. Once that’s reached the end of its life, I’ll have to bite the bullet and move to long press.

In these two weeks, I realised how painfully slow Haptic Touch feels in comparison to 3D Touch that works near instantly. Long-pressing on icons is okay and tolerable, but the loss of functionality and the workaround needed to regain it using Haptic Touch (swipe, tap, then tap again on the options) is really clunky. 3D Touch did not need killing..

It looks like the Audio tab in the News app disappears if you kill the app and the only way to get it back is to reinstall again.

No luck on the unpair / repair with the Watch. Still says the  Watch is up to date and it most definitely is on Beta 3.

Yes, it's greyed out here as well. But you can call directly from the "Audio" Button left of the Info Button.

Found an interesting bug, updated both iPhone SE2020 and iPad 5 mini to beta 4. iPhone had usual settings badge I got rid of by signing out of my account then back in and all was fine again. Then iPad had same settings badge bug, hadn’t happened on iPad before, so performed same procedure and got rid of it, but it caused it to reappear on iPhone SE. wtf!
So redid SE and it came back on iPad. Never ever seen these actions before. In any case just leaving iPad signed out for now.

Whilst I wasn’t a huge user of 3D Touch on iPhone, mainly as I keep forgetting it’s there haha, I was a big BIG user of 3D Touch on my Apple Watch. Most annoyed that WatchOS 7 removed it. I really hope that it gets reinstated in the next Beta release....
