He specifically mentioned NighSight as if that was a driving factor in his decision, so I responded with an iPhone device that had a similar feature and price for what he got his Pixel 4 for.

Not even close.

At the end of the day, no one would care if its new vs used. Both of the devices have nightsight/night mode.

Have I ever tried Android? I have a Pixel 3XL, as well as a Max. I'm one of the few people on here that switches from Android to iOS on a daily basis; however iOS is my preference.

Where did you find a brand new Pixel 4 for $435? Was it on contract? Traded in a device? Purchased it from a 3rd party reseller?
T-Mobile was selling these at that price two months ago. Taxes included. Jumped on that like no tomorrow.

Not even close.

Not even close? Did my statement ever say, "The iPhone night mode is superior to Google's NightSight?" I specifically mentioned that both have night sight capabilities.

Exactly this! Sometimes I'm on the throne so it's inappropriate to answer but also rude to hang up and there's no way to swipe away the full screen call notification to let it time out to voicemail that takes up precious on-throne game time. Grrrrr...
Side button doesn't work?

Not bad, but I'm not a heavy user. Does charge very fast using a standard charger though-no fast charging.
Love the pure Google experience though-previous phones were Samsungs. As in no carrier bloatware. Refreshing for a Android device. I added Nova Prime as that is my preferential launcher on Android

Good to hear, I got the S20+ on March 30. It's been 5 years since i was in Android land and it is just like riding a bike. You don't forget how to ride. I've missed the customization freedom, along with the small incoming call bar that floats and the messaging that comes in as a chat head.

Side button doesn't work?

It immediately refuses the call and sends it to voicemail which is rude. Just want to be able to swipe away the call notification like on Android so it doesn't tie up the whole screen so I can do other things while the call times out to voicemail without the other party knowing I refused the call. Also, swipe is better than wearing out the power button.

I'd be fine with iOS 14 being mainly bug fixes and customization. I feel like iOS is due for a big customization overhaul. There was another rumor about being able to set default apps for things like calendar and email, so that kinda dovetails into this customization rumor as well. Lots of loose ends yet to cover, not a lot of big features we really need at this point except for maybe iPadOS to continue that in a new direction.

They'll probably change all the gestures again. Maybe swipe to open will return. ;)

Definitely need to eliminate the annoying false triggers when swiping up while playing games. On iPads with home button there should be an option to disable swipe up gesture in-game and use home button to go home screen/task list. On devices without home button adopt Android's navigation buttons which has far fewer false triggers and is less effort than finger gymnastics gestures.

Sigh. And your point? The more Apple gives us “features Android had since forever,” the less reason to own an Android device. At this point, Android users are running out of reasons to not own an iPhone. Every year that list gets smaller & smaller.
So, what, it would be better if every one only owned/used an iPhone?

If iOS allows full customizations and cleaned up their dumpster fire notifications system I'd consider an iPhone, till then...nope. At least this is a step in the right direction I guess, only took them a decade to figure it out.

I close apps I am not using to make multitasking easier...doable. I would like to see apps I have running show-up on the lock screen. I can choose the app right there. It could be as easy as showing running app icons on the lock screen after the phone unlocks.

IMO iOS as designed needs a major overhaul. They have been sitting there with those static icons for a while now. They need an app tray to remove them off the screens and to get their widget game up a great deal. They also need to get their theme game going. Dynamic backgrounds is a user choice, but at least give them that choice. Efficiency is up to the user on what choices they make on how to customize their device. Give users the choice and let them figure it out.

Depending on the widgets i might not have to open the app it's associated with to get the information i need at the time. That is efficiency in not having to always open up an app to get something done or get information.

I don't know what this means: 'They need an app tray to remove them off the screens'.

I don't think it should be on the user to make choices about efficiency and design. When I spend $1500 on a phone I expect someone took the time to figure out the optimal way to make the device work.

As far as widgets go, can you give me an example of information you would need access to that cant be the first thing you see when you open an app? I have never seen a widget handle text well, so it can't be email, messages, news alerts, weather updates, or anything else that expects you to read more than 2 words.

I'd like to see multitasking look more like how Chrome handles multiple tabs.

I am also convinced that robocalls flag your number as real if you send them to voicemail. And, like you said, there is no way to ignore them but keep working.

If we could get Live Tiles like we had on Windows 10 Mobile (or the Win10 Start screen) I would be very, very happy.

Holy cow, I'm onboard with this! Hell, it doesn't even have to look exactly like Windows Phone. Just use the rounded tiles from the Home/Shortcuts app. Those are pretty good!

Android widgets used to be good, I had more widgets than actual app icons... But from 2015-onward, widgets have gone to cr@p, most of the apps I use don't even have widgets now, and many of the dedicated widget apps on Play Store are just spyware from China and Russia.
Hopefully iOS will have some way of ensuring the widgets are all high quality and aren't adding spyware.

It's the same with alternate launchers, once-upon-a-time they were decent, GO Launcher used to be one of the best, and it added new features to old phones, but now it's just spyware. Hopefully iOS doesn't follow the same path by allowing spyware or garbage apps on the App Store.

Slowly catching up with Android. I like the Apple cloud, but hate iOS. I miss Andrioid on my Sansung. Clean, intuitive, snappy, clever, and efficient. iOS feels like an old, wet dog that'a got no more tricks.

Also, stop dumbing it down. Background multitasking time limit used to be 7 minutes with iOS <=6, down to 3 minutes for iOS 7 thru 12 and now 30 seconds for iOS 13.
Really?? I had no idea. This seems like something all the Apple sites should report on, but I don’t remember any articles.

I just love Apple strategy. Hardware is not going to be that much more impressive in the next 3-5 years, but software ... Apple will prop that up big time in the coming years.

Except I picked up a Pixel 4 2 months ago for $435...and it has NightSight. How much is that 11 Pro going for?

With one exception. Pixel 4 is a mediocre with no resale value.

There are some things in Android that I'd love to see in iOS, don't even care that Apple copy them. One would be widgets, the other would be the rich notifications - seems like in Android they can do much more - graphs, dynamic info, I had a Nexus 4 for a while and I was very impressed.

Oh this.

Notifications are horrid. My RAZR Android phone 8 years ago was light years ahead of even the latest iOS.

And can we talk about a notification LED? (lol) (ducks)
