So....... No GM, no new hardware to accompany iOS 14....... No further demonstration on apps with iOS 14 capabilities.......
Not sure how to respond really :|

Why is everyone on MacRumors losing their minds today and acting like screaming toddlers? There is NOTHING normal about 2020 - you have to expect that the release schedule of Apple is completely upside down, due to you know - the global pandemic..

Give them a break... I recognize it wasn't everything everyone wanted in a perfect Apple world, but the world is upside and everyone is doing their best, including Apple.

Cool. Haven’t have app crash or unstable the last 3 beta’s so developers will be fine with the surprise release.

Bugs and all, I have several open against iOS 14. Including disappearing keyboard and the spring down text in messages so you can’t see.

And numerous against tvOS, reset to aerial screensaver is still not fixed! Seriously existed since tvOS 13 at least.

My biggest issue is banking apps. 2 of my banks apps simply crash on loading on beta 8. I don't have faith they will work on Thursday.

Wow as a user I like getting cool updates sooner but I would have rather waited a week for devs to get their apps updated and released.

Now devs are going to rush and there will probably be bugs as a result.

I think it’s great that we’re getting iOS/iPadOS14 tomorrow. It should actually make updating to new iPhones easier, since they will come with iOS14. Also, it will tie over those waiting on new iPhones, and the tech reviewers who have been losing their minds the past few weeks, giving them something they can play around with and dig into to see if they can find evidence of other ”new” iPhone features.

Here's a thought.. Recognize that the world is upside down right now due to a major pandemic and that sometimes disrupts things... Seriously - SMH..

those of us who are developers aren’t complaining about the release schedule itself, but rather that we were uninformed this was happening at all.

now users will update tomorrow and likely experience bugs in the apps they’re using depending on the apps features, such as CoreLocation which had some pretty major overhauls, because those developers weren’t given the chance to submit properly updated binaries. In fact, we still can’t as of this moment.

That exciting news! I wasn’t expecting it this early. The only reason I didn’t try out the public beta this year was Niantic’s lack of support. Hopefully they push an update today or tomorrow for PoGo!

I have no issues whatsoever with what you're saying.. My comment was in response to:

Which is really just someone whining that they don't have a new iPhone to play with or app demos as part of a keynote..

Why bother? New OS with old iPhones is stupid. Its always a new iPhone to go with the new OS. Apple really screwed up this year.

No it is not. One of the main advantages of Apple is that you get at least 5 years of update support.

Having to buy a new phone just to run the new OS sounds like Android hell.

I love having the latest and greatest when the beta 2 of iOS hits months in advance.

That’s literally a huge FU to all the devs having to find out about this at 8 pm the day before. Like where is the GM? Is beta 8 supposed to be the GM? You can’t even upload a build with Xcode yet cuz there is no GM. What the actual F

As a developer I have had 6 weeks to update my apps. And they were ready 3 weeks ago and on the appstore the next day. Everyone on my team and other teams we communicate with were 100% aware that iOS 14 was releasing mid September. If apps are your side hustle (its mine and i still had it done) i can see people getting behind but those that make their living on it should have been done by last week. I want to be clear some apps obviously have more involved then others but trying to build an app based on GM is a workflow nightmare.
