As a developer I have had 6 weeks to update my apps. And they were ready 3 weeks ago and on the appstore the next day. Everyone on my team and other teams we communicate with were 100% aware that iOS 14 was releasing mid September. If apps are your side hustle (its mine and i still had it done) i can see people getting behind but those that make their living on it should have been done by last week.

depends on the quality check you or your company likes to do I guess. With the GM coming later today, we technically have to ask 100+ testers to test AGAIN to make sure nothing messed up our own app before we push it to the store (Internal policies). That’s why we liked to have a week between GM and the release. Not less than 24 hours

Didn’t give us a heads up about the last seed being the GM, or to start submitting apps with Xcode12 so that they could be ready for customers.

Wow... No GM. That comes as a real surprise. QA analysts at software companies around the globe are scrambling now.

So....... No GM, no new hardware to accompany iOS 14....... No further demonstration on apps with iOS 14 capabilities.......

it is unprecedented to release a new version of iOS without an iPhone release as well. Of course we expected it sometime in the fall, but Apple always tell you, and this year for some reason they decided not to.
