And there are far more glaring issues than this. And the fixes they supposedly fixed still aren't fixed.Wow they fixed three things..
Yaaaaaaaayyyy..
My mother just got her iPhone 13 Mini and it actually had iOS 14 on it. Generally you want the same OS version before you restore. I restored her phone from her 8 to her new 13 and it went smoothly. I would have both phones you are transferring to/from to be the same OS version. So if I update our phones to 15.01 before our 13's arrive in 10 days - will I have to update the new 13
s to 15.01 before I can transfer the data etc. to them?
I don’t risk my data doing something like that.I will need to do that too at some point.
Can you confirm that if you do this (turn off iCloud Photos on the phone, delete all the locally saved photos, and re-enable) won't delete anything from iCloud Photos? Won't it somehow "cache" the fact that I deleted the photos while it was off, and then upload the changes to iCloud?
Nope it didn’t have iOS 14. What you saw was an update to the RC version shipped with your phone. My mother just got her iPhone 13 Mini and it actually had iOS 14 on it. I couldn't even update her phone out of the box I kept getting an error, I had to DFU restore it to iOS 15. It was quite annoying, but it works fine now.Nope it didn’t have iOS 14. What you saw was an update to the RC version shipped with your phone.
Touch responsiveness seems fine, but I have seen it once or twice not react on 13 Pro max until a second tap, I’ve never seen it not swipe up properly.Has touch responsiveness been fixed? What about tapping and waking up the screen, but it not responding to swiping up sometimes?
All this time and still loads of bugs, I thought this would of fixed a few good things but nope
As someone else stated the 13s, at least mine did, came with ios 15 version 345 while our current phone had version 346 on them. If you do a direct transfer, which is how I set my phones up now, there wasn’t a problem. I updated the software on the 13 Pro Max after the set up and activation. When I used to do the iCloud set up and restore from backup on my previous phones they would pop up a notification that an update was needed on the new phone and then I just installed that from the pop up and everything proceeded smoothly. The direct transfer by Bluetooth and WiFi has been simpler and faster with everything replicated exactly on the new device. For me this is the new gold standard in new phone set up.So if I update our phones to 15.01 before our 13's arrive in 10 days - will I have to update the new 13

All normal on my 13 Pro Max. Maybe a restart will smooth things out.Come on apple 🤦♂️😡😡😡
Updated to 15.0.1 my wide camera is now blurry on my 13 pro max. 🤦♂️

At least something is improving, because iOS 15 isn’t. 😂I see your camera skills are improving. 😂🤣
thanks - what I thought - was trying to get wife's phone to 15 because I thought new phones would be there but when I did the update today it did to 15.01. Strange that new phones had 14 on it - I guess I thought they'd have to have 15 to support new phones. We'll seeMy mother just got her iPhone 13 Mini and it actually had iOS 14 on it. The new 13s did not have 14 on them. They had iOS 15, just the previous version - 345 or possibly 341, while your old phone would have had iOS 15 version 346. The quick start set up with transfer from the old phone will set everything up very easily.thanks - what I thought - was trying to get wife's phone to 15 because I thought new phones would be there but when I did the update today it did to 15.01. Hmm. that's a thought. Perhaps Apple just needs to stop releasing x.0 versions and hold them until like x.8. I mean since that's what they are for and all LOL. Seems that's when things actually work then BAM a new x.0 comes out.that’s what 15.1, .2 is for. This is just a bandaid for now 😬
Or maybe fix current bugs before working on the next .1 update 🤦♂️ Come on Timothy Cook get your software team up to scratch.Hmm. that's a thought. Exactly what I do. Never had issues.Yes, OTA is a patch while IPSW is the full firmware. I’ve always went with IPSW regardless what version it is. I’ve experienced less issues with IPSW than OTA.
So, this is very interesting. I just tried to reproduce this bug again. I'm still on iOS 15.1 beta 2, which exhibited the bug on Wednesday.Seems like deleting photos from "Photos" when iMessages are deleted with photos has been fixed on MY 13s.
Fascinating.. I always wonder if certain bugs could be fixed server side like this one..!! I couldn’t reproduce this late yesterday..Good callSo, this is very interesting. I just tried to reproduce this bug again. I'm still on iOS 15.1 beta 2, which exhibited the bug on Wednesday.
I was not able to reproduce the bug; the photo stayed in my library upon doing the iCloud Backup. It DID however lose the name of the person who sent it to me!
I think this bug has been fixed, SERVER side. After all, the photo would be deleted from iCloud, so that's where the deletion was likely happening.
In other words, this bug is probably now fixed, for everyone.
