The only thing that actually impressed me with iOS 15 was Safari, Weather and Maps.
Safari because the bottom bar was a welcome change, Safari extensions are awesome and some nice new tweaks in general with more browser functionality supported. It was also very pleasantly surprising that they took into account feedback during the betas to fine tune it.
Weather looks very nice now, I love the animations it has and the entire app feels very well thought out and fluid. Really nicely done.
Maps has needed a shot in the arm for a long time and it got it here, looks really beautiful and the detailed maps are a step above anything I’ve seen in terms of mapping. They’re right that it’s great for exploring cities, if it was supported in my city, I’d certainly use it for finding local landmarks. Even places without the city view have very detailed maps and some are even significantly more up to date than Google Maps.
Under the current build is it better to set up as Direct Transfer or iCloud restore? I saw someone reference they were getting full size photos on direct transfer - is that a known issue?
I always do direct transfer ever since they added the option because it‘s so convenient. It‘s like a 1:1 copy of your phone, only things you have to log in or authenticate again is Apple Pay cards and online banking pushTAN setups. Most apps just work right away if they aren‘t tied to device IDs.
Was pretty smooth sailing going from my old phone to the 13 Pro Max that way… other than it taking roughly 2h to finish, because it copies over all photos instead of just relying on iCloud Photo Library pulling it down again.
I haven’t connected my devices to my computer for a software update since OTA updates became possible. Never had an issue on any device. Simple, easy, convenient and always perfect. The only issues are whatever bugs the software comes with. With my iPads and phones I only use my MacBook Pro to backup and sync the devices about once a week.

Exactly. You get an exact replica of the previous device immediately ready to go. They show you a message that you’ll be able to use the phone sooner while other data downloads in the background over time if you do a restore from an iCloud backup but when I‘ve done the direct transfers by Bluetooth and WiFi it’s only taken a little over 30 minutes to have full access to the phone.
I was leery of this method at one time, but I was also leery of iCloud backup restores in the past and continued to use my computer and iTunes to set up the devices for a while. Now I feel like those old methods of doing this are kinda like grandpa desperately hanging on to his flip phone, and I’m in my 70s!.
No. When I check my memory in iPhone I have 7.5gb/59gb… but I have 35gb in real. In iTunes I have 35gb (photos/apps/documents)… but when I check OTHERS(what I can say, check picture)… iPhone memory counting GB… sometimes I see 7.5gb or less… after 5 minutes 6.9gb/8.8gb I have this problem for 2 days. 5minutes ago I reinstall clean iOS 15.0.1 … And problem still exist
Started seeing this in 15.0 and now seeing it in 15.0.1

Apps are freezing mid-use. Will be in the midst of using an app and the screen freezes. I can close the app (sweep) and see it in the task manager however the app is unresponsive.
Side note: when I look at the apps in the task manager, I am seeing a Messages note at the bottom. Is this new? Don’t remember it from before..

Between IPP11 and 12PM a couple of items I had not seen while in the 15 betas:
When switching between devices with Air Pods Pro, the APP will be silent for 10-20 seconds after connecting to the designated device. Used to be a few seconds at most.
PIP on IPP will intermittently freeze when I am in Safari pages. A tap on the PIP will reactivate the PIP.

Every time I change to a different tab in Safari, the page shows like it’s in low resolution, text is blurry and images flash white before returning to normal after half a second. It was not happening in iOS 15.0 and definitely not in iOS 14.x.
Anyones phone keep locking up? Happens alot on Instagram for example. I will be scrolling through pages and it just freezes. I have to exit out of app and relaunch.

This update includes bug fixes for your iPhone.
Unlock iPhone with Apple Watch may not work on iPhone 13 models
Settings app may incorrectly display an alert that storage is full
Audio meditations could unexpectedly start a workout on Apple Watch for some Fitness+ subscribers
Still doesn't seem to cover Carplay issues. IOS 15 doesn't seem to be working with individual "radio station" apps. Maybe Apple's intent was to force everyone to use Apple music for radio
