Hi guys, happy Apple Watch day, if I’m on the beta, do I need to pair, update to beta, unpair, pair and choose the iCloud version of the other Apple Watch? To upgrade to s7

The new Apple Watch should be on watchOS 8 so if you are on iOS 15.0 or higher you are fine you just need to unpair your old watch and pair your new one.. you may have to set it back up but all the saved stuff on the cloud will come over to the new one

I’m on the latest beta on the Watch, that’s why I ask, with the iPhone I know I first have to update, but with the Watch It’s the first time upgrading it while on beta.

Battery life is definitely worse for me on B4 than it was on B3 with a 13PM, especially standby drain. On B3 I had 1-2% drain at night with Airplane mode + bluetooth off. Now with B4 it's 4-5% over night and during the day it is also worse than it was before.

Can I just "shift+update" with MacOS back to B3 with the ipsw?
I have the same issue and the same question. Can someone help us please.

Been having these for some apps and selecting Deliver Promptly for Keep does nothing since iOS 15 betas but can manually change it in Settings

Hi all! I’ve been facing a strange issue since iOS 15.0 but only on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Since launch, when I try to plug it in to my car via lightning to a aux input to play music through the car stereo(non car play) my car fails to recognize my phone. It will charge but won’t connect. Currently my 13 pro max is on 15.1 beta 4, My older back up iPhone 11 and girlfriends iPhone 12 works fine. She’s on 15.0.2 and the 11 is on 15.1 beta 4 and also works. Have tried my 13 pro max on other cars as well and the issue persists.
Seems to be an issue just with the 13 series. Have read others having this issue on apple forums with some saying turning off EQ in music will help. Have tried that as well as a dfu restore and set up as new with no luck. Anyone else facing this issue as well on the 13’s? Cheers.

I have battery drain and the back is heating up on the iPhone X under light load. On previous beta I also had battery drain but the X did not get hot.
If you don't mind me asking, what activities were you doing? If simple web browsing either on the web or a social media app, was anything animating or moving? Either an ad or a video. The reason I ask is because if there was, it is not uncommon to see both more power draw(battery usage) and CPU usage to process a moving object.

I see it with my computer as well, everytime something is animated, and nowdays, sometimes in general, I will see my CPU and GPU usage go up due to processing. In every case, more power would be used and more heat would be produced. It does not matter if the device is mobile, or otherwise, they all do this.

Hope it helps :)

Should be able to but its a different key combo for Mac. Not "shift/update" but something like "cmd/update". (Not a Mac user so not 100% sure on the key combo. ) But point being the "update" to the older IPSW file manually should work. Before doing so though, I would recommend a "reset all settings" and see if that helps. That is a great problem solver between different iOS updates. Just have to reapply any custom settings you have and wallpapers, wifi networks, and Apple Pay cards need setting back up. But other apps and data stay intact. May be worth a try because it seems that the general consensus is b4 is a decent upgrade so perhaps just your install needs some help.

Many people have run into the situation that their battery percentage is stuck running iOS 15.0.1 and iOS 15.0.2. The only way those people can see the battery percentage update is to a shutdown and restart. But then the battery percentage is stuck until they do another shutdown and restart. There does not seem to be a way to fix this. Not even a DFU and restore iOS seems to fix it.

It is unclear what causes this to occur. Some think it happened after they did a forced hard restart. I personally have not encountered this yet. I am wondering if anyone who has encountered this bug, running iOS 15.1 bets can tell me if running the 15.1 beta has seen this fixed.

I don’t know if I’m the only one seeing this, but in some apps (happens in any app - eg- music, WhatsApp, photos, settings, safari, etc) the location indicator looks like it’s using the location but once you pull down the control center or go to the Home Screen, it just shows the geofencing icon. Going back into the apps show a filled icon (not the new blue one, but the white filled icon), but privacy settings shows that the particular app hasn’t accessed location recently. I’ve noticed this since iOS 15.

Not sure if location services are broken or if the animations with the location have some sort of an issue.

Went from 15.0.2 to 15.1 Beta 4. Not pleased with the drain…

I made a back-up with iTunes before jumping on the beta train again.

2 questions: I didn’t download or install the beta profile until after making the backup. Do I still have to unregister my handset before I go back to my backup? And is it really that simple? Just plug it in to my mac, and chose to restore to my backup?

I experienced this issue when I first updated. Remove any "old style" widgets, reboot and add them back. That fixed it for me.

The battery on the 13 is so good they could remove the battery status all together for all i care 😂 haven’t checked it once since I got the phone.
I’ve never had a battery issue with any of my devices in years. But I get a new phone at least every 2 years, my iPads I keep longer but they’re not refreshed as often as phones and they have huge batteries so I’ve never had a problem. Having said that I did something a few days ago with a lot of tabs left open on this site and my battery dropped significantly on my iPad Pro. I’ve seen many references here about battery drainage when on Macrumors site so I wasn’t too surprised and once I closed those tabs and restarted the ipad I’ve not seen any issues. Normally once I take my ipad off its charger in the morning around 6am I can wait till noon to use it and still see it at 100%, that hasn’t changed in ios 15.

No need to unregister device. Just don't install the profile back and you will be off the beta channel. And you have to restore iOS first not just your backup. The backup is just your data/settings not the OS. Once iOS is re-installed then restore your backup and you should be set.

BTW may want to give it some time to settle before jumping to the conclusion that the beta is draining your battery. Typically it takes some time before the battery usage settles down due to things going on after an update. I would give it a day or two then decide. And maybe a quick reboot.

Touch detection on the widget page seems to be borked in this beta. Seems like vertical scrolling detection is too… precise? Trying to scroll up or down is being recognized as horizontal about 90% of the time. Reported.
