Got a question for you guys...

When in the ios 15 beta program, we could expect a lot of bugs in the earlier betas. That´s a given, right? How is it in these 15.1 betas? My thought is that the "basic" stuff from the 15 works as it should and some new stuff is being ironed out? And some polishing on the "old" 15 just to make it even better...

Am I lost in the head or am I on to something?

My point being... it should be "safer" to use the 15.1 betas than the early 15 betas, right?

Absolutely correct. The closer they get to public release. The more bug fixes they will have implemented. Although 15.1 has been pretty stable for most, minus a few minor headaches. I always use beta versions, and my device hasn’t ever been rendered useless. In my honest opinion, it’s perfectly safe to use the beta that just got dropped last night.

Thank you!

LIVE TEXT if, IF, your live text isn’t working, I found this setting that might have been turned off. Worth a shot.

focus comes on at 12am and turns off at 8am. That’s all I do.

plus I did listen to the guys Ive posted about a few times, last time in B3 forum, about battery saving in iOS 15.
I checked out that video as well, had a lot of those things already switched off but learned some new things as well. I always put my iPhone on Airplane mode every night and I never get any overnight battery drain. Through the week, I’m on the charger since I have an alarm set for work in the mornings. I’ve been having some excellent battery life lately, not that I put too much focus on that anyway. I just try to enjoy my iPhone more than anything. 👌🏻

It is what we are supposed to be doing - getting the devices that work for us instead of the other way round - and then trying to be satisfied.

I use Fantasical. Great app that integrates with Reminders and the widget is beautiful.

I just had a play with Reachability (never use it) and it looks perfectly smooth to me. Maybe I'm not as sensitive to frame rate differences as this device has led me to believe.
I'm not saying the few people that complain are complaining just because, but the majority seem to not have that issue. Hope they fix it though, since they acknowledged it. (Apple)

My favourites on the favourites bar in Safari are no longer clickable. Using iPad Pro 11” 2020 😢

I might risk asking a daft question but is there anything wrong with having this beta on my daily device (iPhone 12) but keep my watch on public stable release?

I just fancy trying the betas and providing apple done feedback to some issues I’ve seen in public 15.02 that might still be present in b4 of 15.1.

If they are fixed then it’s a bonus!

What if you receive important phone calls in the night? Airplane mode would stop those calls surely?

Probably so, but no one ever calls me that late. I just have to hope if someone DOES call that they leave a voicemail. 😅 I leave my phone on silent overnight too so I’d miss it regardless. Wonder if the calls could come through if you did Airplane mode but turned on Wi-Fi at the same time. Not sure how that would affect the battery though.

To make you even more shocked, I turn my phone off every night when I go to bed. Take that, battery drain!
Most likely, that is because of the new feature where you can still track the phone with Find My once the phone is off. For this to work, it has to still be somewhat powered on and still connected to your carrier network. Otherwise, such option would not work.

As far as I can tell, off is off. My battery percentage is the same in the morning as it was at night.

I guess it might use a bit of power in case I try to use Express Travel or something, but there's also a chance that only works if the phone dies due to lack of battery rather than manually being turned off. I don't know.

I turn it off out of habit from the old days when regularly rebooting things was required. I could just toggle it in/out of airplane mode I suppose, but habit is habit!

way to complicated. 😜😂

just pop focus on or set a schedule and then if that emergency call does come through your good. If you were to miss something serious, and I hope you never do, you’ll carry that around with you for a long time.

Yeah that’s true 🤣

good idea, I do have a scheduled focus time for work but sometimes I’ll turn it on early. And it doesn’t mess with my alarm so that’s good. And you’re right, anything can happen at any time of the day after all.

I have focus on and an alarm will still work over it. Or have I miss read that?!?

If the previous release version was pretty solid there is a good chance the beat 2+ will be decent.
Not always.

If you are unsure and don't have a real need to play in the betas, read what's going on then make a decision.
Rule of thumb: don't use your primary device in beta.
