One bug it didn't fix is the iMessage bug where it's been impossible to iMessage oneself since iOS 16 came out .
IOS 16.0.2 on SE3 no problems iMessage to my self. Haven't installed any 16 on my 13's so couldn't comment.

1.61GB 14 Pro Max.

Dumb question: Other than the obvious physical differences (physical dimensions, screen size, and battery), I would assume the software builds running on the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max to be nearly identical.

What would account for a roughly 33% larger OTA size on the 14 Pro Max vs the 14 Pro, especially for a X.X.1 bug fix build?

I posted this in the other chat, but I don't think we will see 16.1 until at least November 1. Apple themselves have stated that SOS via Satellite is coming in November via software update. So the Window is 11/1-11/4 and 11/7-11/10 (11th is a holiday).

Which makes sense as to why to release a 16.0.3. Otherwise, why not just wait two weeks.
I dont think Apple would release it in November because of what they say when macOS 13 and iPadOS 16 will release:

They are likely to release iOS 16.1 alongside these. iOS 16.2 is likely to have satellite connectivity, and probably Apple is working on it but just adding it to the codebase of iOS 16.1.

This works for me as long as I choose an email address associated to iMessage and not my phone number.
Same for me but it worked before iOS16 with my phone number . It still does with iPad and Mac

EDIT : THANK YOU !!! I tried once more sending one to myself with email . That worked . Then I deleted it tried again with my phone number and now it's blue . Did it a few times after deleting the previous message each time and now all seems to be back as it was before . You put me on the right track . 👍🏻 🙏🏻

Has anyone been having issues with the Find My app not updating your friends locations? The only way I can force it to update is to go to their conversation in iMessage and tapping the I and opening the Map there. Been driving me insane!

That surprised me, don’t think I’ve ever seen one this big for a .0.3 update. A .1 update might be expected to be this big. Something bigger in the background on the 14 Pros is being addressed.
