Which iPhone do you have? And if iPhone 14 Pro, do you have AOD turned on?

iPhone 14 pro max, AOD off. I’ll give a few more days and report back if it gets worse…

I ponder it part of the battery drain is due to the brighter screen and using auto brightness. On a recent flight where there was a lot of sunlight, I watched a ~2.5 episodes of series and lost around 30-45% battery life.

Doesn't fix the two issues that I am seeing on my 14P

1) Home Controls in Control Center keep disappearing. You can just see them peeking off the bottom of the list but need to reset the toggle in Control Center settings to bring them back

2) Using Siri to set Sleep Focus doesn't work correctly on Apple Watch (S5). The Sleep icon and alarm activate, but the watch doesn't switch to "screen off" mode. Manual toggle from Control Center on either the watch or the phone work as expected.

Holding judgement on Power usage for a day or two...

2.5 episodes is like 2.5 hours of Video streaming, also depends on its quality. According to Apple, video playback for iPhone 14 Pro Max is 29 hours (25 hours streamed). If you watched 2.5 hours video, you should only expect battery consumption of 10-15%.. So you lose 3x battery...

Have you checked what apps consumed the battery?

Swipe to home animation stutters are back for me. Man this OS is still such a mess after all this time.

Yep total mess. Siri is so bugged. Wouldn't play any AM songs that weren't in my library... Support said to turn off and on again which I did and now Siri won't respond to ANY request. Hey Siri works but then does nothing with any request.

Works absolutely fine on my Watch however...

Can‘t update on iPhone 11 :-/ Verifying always fails. I get the message that the connection to the internet has been lost (which is not the case). I tried resetting, restarting, installing on my mac, switching the network etc. all to no avail. I have about 10 gigs of free space on my phone as well. any ideas? best, max

At the time I didn’t screenshot it, next time I will. I just remember the IP13PM seemed to last forever when playing the same video. As today is the second day after the 16.0.3 update I feel the battery life may be slightly better in standby but during regular use of the IP14PM it does still drain somewhat quickly. Note I’ve not yet wiped the phone and started fresh, however.

Almost 24 hours in and no stutters yet on my 14 Pro....I was seeing this fairly consistently before 16.0.3. Time will tell, but so far so good...
It will return. They haven't fixed it and it appears they don't know how to.

No stuttering on 16.0.2 or 16.0.3. 14PM. Haven’t seen any stuttering yet except when my finger trembles when I’m groggy.

Does activity widgets work reliably for anyone? Neither the Lock Screen widget nor the Home Screen widgets update for me anymore. Going into the activity app is the only way to see the correct information. It looks especially absurd since the lock and Home Screen widgets each show different but both incorrect data.

Like… how hard is it to access and display a value?? Is this where we’re at with modern programming?

I use the small activity lock screen widget and the rings are updating fine. For the Lock Screen widget, the phone has to unlock before the rings will populate.

Bug?? Please try, Settings-Display & Brightness-Select Display Zoom as a Larger Text,
Now play any movie in Apple TV app in vertical position of iPhone, once start playing turn into horizontal position,
Movie will be completely displaced instead of playing in full screen.

Better not tell the « I’m only doing full installs and not OTA updates » camp that new Apple Silicon Macs also have ipsw restore files available 👀

iOS 16 is quite jittery/stuttery. For the last several cycles Apple has had a serious issue with this, and it's getting annoying.

Same pattern every year:
- New iOS version drops, is stuttery AF.
- Gradually it gets better over the next year.
- By the end of that iOS version's cycle (IE 15.6 or so) it finally gets as smooth as it should have been all along.
- Reset immediately by the next iOS version (IE iOS 16).

Hoping 16.1 comes soon and fixes some of this. I will never buy a Samsung phone but I've been tempted to just to have consistently smooth, non-jittery visuals that Apple has failed to provide for a while now.

Has 16.0.3 been better or worse for 14P/PM users compared to 16.0.2?

Haven’t made the plunge still

Both have been great for me, and since .0.3 I have not gotten a password request pop up after a restart, though to be honest it’s been long enough now I don’t really know when it stopped. At least a week to 10 days over 3-4 restarts. Everything else has been great. Without checking I wouldn’t know whether this .0.2 or.3. 14PM

I think there are issues with the music app and AirPods Pro in relation to battery usage on iOS 16.0.3.

Two similar days, one with 1.5 hours of steaming on Apple Music, the second day with 15 mins and the second day uses around 10-15% less battery.

Everything else and usage are similar.

Its definitely better. The CarPlay volume bug is fixed which was a big problem. The stuttering is still there but overall I think the phone is much more stable now.
