So can you confirm that Facetime works well? Does it appear safe to upgrade from 15.7 to 16.1 beta 1 if I'm a regular Facetime user?
This beta resolved my iMessages and FaceTime issues on iPadOS. They deactivated themselves in the previous iPad beta. I had to re-activate them. I never realized how much I would miss FaceTime on it.

Same for me on my new 13.
Will this be a catch 22, in that if they fix it in a future update, we won't be able to update?
It will be IPSW only and Pearsey will be so happy 😈

Installed the latest iOS for iPad and when I select check for update after the install as I always do, I get the “unable to check for update” never had this before? Tried the usual hard reboot, reset network settings, close all apps, VPN off etc. Any suggestions?

Given the number of people reporting this, I’d say it’s a server side issue. Hopefully resolved soon.

Battery indicator now available on iPhone XR, 11,12/13mini starting from iOS 16.1

According to source code, there are some changes to icon itself since XR/11 don’t have enough pixels to display indicator sharply enough without distortion but icon has been tweaked for these devices.

See! There is a reason for things being done the way they are. It’s not Apple “trying to force an upgrade” or similar claptrap.

Possibly not as I’m running iOS 16.0 and don’t see any errors (no updates available yet)
This is it. We're all going to be on iOS 16.1 beta 1 for ever, as Apple have finally fixed every single bug.

Safari is so snappy, crocodiles run away scared. My battery doesn't drain at all, and the notch in my iPhone 11 has disappeared. Siri does everything I want it to without me even having to ask. I got a pop-up asking me if I wanted a free iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I'm curious who will be updating to this beta while waiting for their new iPhone but I'll be holding off this till then.
Good idea. The one year when they had the 16.1 beta I had to go through hoops to transfer to my new iPhone. Had to set the new one up basic, and then put the new beta on, and then wipe it and setup again with restore from backup. I'm just sticking with 16 live until I'm transferred to 14PM

Feels like the one.
Probably is the 1 😆😂

When I got my 12 Pro, I upgraded from X. I installed beta profile, installed the beta, and then did the device to device transfer, which I was always use forever more. Device to device transfer actually transfers downloaded music. Restoring from backup or reinstalling makes you manually re-download media, from what I remember, which is a major PITA.

SOS indicator now shows the dots for second SIM

Wait, that’s amazing to know since lossless Apple Music downloads are the majority of what I have on my phone…

Thank you for that!

Sounds good if you don’t trade in your old handset 👍🏼

Could a XR or iPhone mini user please share a screenshot with the battery indicator? Curious how it looks like.
See attached—here’s my 13 mini lock screen. Gotta love that weather widget cutoff 🤪

Just get fiber. I downloaded 80GB of media in like 20 seconds - and then crashed a 128GB device!
