You had me until you said Chrome. That is the worst. My mother in law uses it, and it’s const changing its behavior every few updates, get confused with default profiles for those with multiple accounts. The thing is a nightmare for me.
I have work that needs to be done and sometimes Chrome doesnt even cut it, throwing random errors. With manifest V3 coming next year, I am moving away from Chrome as much as possible, and will slowly migrate to FireFox. It’s too bad browser engine market is so dominant by Chrome nowadays.

Safari has the worst website compatibility despite 25% marketshare on mobile. Chrome, well, has the marketshare and enjoy IE era monopoly. FireFox is probably the last stand of a cleaner internet but that is also dying cause developers dont care about FireFox rendering compatibility either. It’s sad.

Safari by far is the worst browser I have Ever seen. Been for a month, as long as I launch safari on iPad, there’s a very real chance swipe would not work properly or not at all, which means docks can’t be called From bottom. Can’t do notifications, can’t do control center and webpage scrolling is incredibly difficult. Also impacts multitask switching.

On the macOS, safari has the worst website compatibility of all major browsers with more than 10% marketshare. Any time a website I want to visit having issue, safari almost always come out on top.

Had apple not force developers into using their own WebKit engine, safari would have less than 10% marketshare even on iOS. Chrome has 70% marketshare for a reason.

The worst for me is that when you watch a video on safari in landscape mode and you want to adjust the volume with the video player volume controls, I keep invoking notification cente by mistake because the damn volume control slider is too close to the edge of the screen (at least on Pro Max)

Anybody still has GPS problems on this beta ? Cannot get a proper position fix on slow speeds. Tryed with several app and all the same. Sometimes starts well, good fix with speed calculation and after a few minutes or position freezes or it goes 200/300 metres off the real position. ive checked all location services, all app permitions even reset the location services. Any ideas ? iphone 14 pro max

It’s a beta. All you can do is report it and wait for it to be fixed. Has happened before.

Ive reported already, but according to many sites the GPS issue was fixes on BETA 2. thats why im asking if somebody on the same beta still has an issue or is just my phone.

Great, much appreciated for your help :)

You should always do an encrypted back up to your computer before installing a beta. It’s the safest way to go back to an official build should you need to and save all your data.

If you haven’t, you’ve shot yourself in the foot buddy, and I’d ask yourself why you installed it on your phone in the first place.

Anyone else having issues with activating an eSim with iMessage? I use dual eSim, one is activated with iMessage, the other won’t activate. Since b3 one of the numbers is disabled for iMessage for some reason. Checked with the carrier, but all settings are correct.

Yes yes I know

The problem with creating that back up file, the bug with memory filling would still be present, wouldn it?

So it was either keep the memory fill bug, or go for broke and insall the public beta iOS!

I only see the 'Check for Update' when I've uninstalled the Profile, when it's installed I see the normal iOS 16.1 text

I would rather that, than my spare GB progrssively filling up every day, it was a no brainer for me.

I would sit tight and hope it gets fixed tomorrow or wait it out till the official release. Otherwise it could be a new phone install for you 🫣

What do you suggest then

Remove myself from the Beta profile and keep trucking till official release

Or keep going with the profile and Beta downloads?

Mail

Went into my Mail yesterday and cleaned up 267 emails. Read some, replied to others, deleted a few, and sent a bunch to junk.
Cool.
Or not.
A few minutes later the 267 badge was back.
Went back into Mail and there was nothing Unread.
Closed Mail - all was good.
Cool.
Or not.
Yes, it did this a few times.
This morning though, all is apparently well.

The change in badge count was reflected on my iPad each time.

btw - the only account currently on Mail is iCloud email account.

Thought: could this be a server side issue? I suspect the badge data comes from the server.

Every time I open the App Store, I get a “Cannot connect” pop up but I can just close it out and update apps with no problem. Anyone else get this?

Can we please have an option to spread out the clock/widgets? Why does it have to be in the top 5/6th of the usable space?

Been running iOS 16.1 beta 3 on my 13 pro max since it was released last week, and all has been smooth sailing until today. I notice a constant delay whether I raise the phone to wake or tap the screen to wake, there seems to be this odd few second delay where nothing happens to the point I think the phone is dead, then the screen just flashes on with a weird janky animation. Hard reset hasn’t fixed it. Anyone else seeing this? Cheers
