Having just served as the remote troubleshooter for an 80 year old victim of this bug, creating a 2.4 GHz network might be the workaround until this is fixed. Had a 5 GHz network that did NOT help with this.

iOS 16.1.1 is a battery killer. It made things on my iPhone 14 ProMax worse. Apple support ran diagnostics and confirmed everything was fine. I charged it for 100% and then saw an overnight battery drain of 14% in 7 Hours without being used. This is ridiculous from Apple. iOS 16.1 was perfect. Tried restart, force restart and nothing works. With just 22 mins of screen time about 20% battery gone.

Hope Apple acknowledges and fixes this.
