do the apple internal devs not see this issue when they alpha test?
They may be testing something we are unaware of. Who knows…..
On another note while typing this I am getting delayed keyboard audio clicks, and the audio level changes all the time. Some loud some quiet.

For folks in India who have installed this beta version? I think 5G is enabled.

How is the overall data performance and device performance?
And of-course 5G coverage as well if anyone can comment for Bangalore City on Airtel?

thanks.

This one sounds like ‘the bad beta - the one to avoid’ if on a new Pro iPhone.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll check back in when beta 3 pops up ✅

Unfortunately, it's not the first time beta 2 came with worse bugs that gets resolved in beta 3 onwards. Seems like 16.2 is following this trend.

Just means they're working on a bunch of stuff and broke a bunch of stuff in the process.

FIXED - You can now adjust the call volume when a call is in progress, the screen is off and the phone is up to your ear (could not previously).
God! You made me update to this beta just to find out that it hasn’t been fixed.

The standalone 5G is unavailable for me. I am on JIO network. The error is insufficient sim security. Not sure what it means. Looks like I will have to visit JIO centre and get more details on this.

Who said your feedback doesn’t matter? Certainly not me. My point, in case you missed it, is that betas can be less than perfect. That, after all, is one of the key reasons the beta program exists: to find problems and fix them before a general public release.

And the most amusing thing to me is that many of those here who were most vocal about the stuttering are now reporting that it had diminished or disappeared. Just as I and others predicted would occur.

I think it's important to report any problem, including cosmetic issues like stuttering. Even if it's a beta. There have been a few notable bugs that people have started reporting since iOS 16.0 beta 2, and haven't been fixed in the final version. So the argument "it's a beta, that's how it is, don't complain" really is moot. If this isn't brought up to Apple's attention, chances are they won't even notice. After all, they want people to use the Feedback app.

What I also find absurd is the theory "give it 6 hours until it's done indexing". On modern iPhones, that phase takes a few minutes at most, and it can be observed with Xcode or any app that shows CPU usage. Once CPU usage has settled, the iPhone should behave normally (save a few quirks that are usually solved with a reboot). If anything, bugs get more evident once you've been using it a lot, as memory starts to get full and it needs to be managed by iOS.

And finally: these forums are made to exchange opinions, and also to whine and complain. It's the inherent nature of an online forum. And you know what? I think it's really cool. Anyone bothered by it is of course free to leave.

Definitely not gone. Still the same behaviour across the iOS and apps 🥺

Yeah very true. Just have to tough it out or downgrade. 👍🏼

It goes away occasionally for a few mins but comes back. Guess I’m waiting another week with my OCD stuffed deep in my pocket.
😂 man, I feel you! I could not resist and reverted back to 16.1! Glad I have done a backup before jumping the beta train. I felt like I couldn't stand the stutter a minute longer.

Unfortunately there's no turning back for me as I upgraded the Home architecture. Also restoring would create another Apple Watch entry in the Health sources. OCD is a b**h.

Is this shadow new? Don’t remember seeing this previously.

(iPhone 14 Pro)

Well…beta 2 has resolved the camera lock screen bug only to break wallet for me.

Opening/paying with the wallet app when the screen is locked, results in me being trapped in the app. The home bar is there but I am unable to swipe up. Only solution is to lock the screen again.

Can anyone test to see if they can reproduce? Thanks!

Have gone back to beta 1.

For shitz and giggles want to see if OTA makes a difference coming back up to beta 2.

If that doesn't change anything, then will reinstall using the IPSW file. just to see.

EDIT: OTA and then a IPSW reinstall of the iOS made F all difference. S S Stutters here to S S Stay. 👎🏼
Be careful, my messages disappeared after I downgraded, also there were lots of healthd logs showing the process crashes constantly after downgrade. For these reasons I upgraded back to iOS 16.2 DB2. Can’t have health not working

Feel free to reference FB11768112 (Home screen stutter while swiping between Home Screen pages) and I’ll reference yours if you submit a similar report.
Here’s mine: FB11770408 (Constant system stutter when ProMotion is on)
Maybe the constant system stutter words will catch their attention
