Question: Historically, isn’t the .2 beta 2 release when we get new Emoji?

I understand this common refrain but we’re not talking about an iPhone gen 1 processor, GPU and memory/storage subsystem. We’re talking about a world class CPU/GPU, Memory and Storage subsystem that rivals all other phones and some laptops in terms of performance. Strongly believe what we’re seeing is one or more bugs and not a constraint due to limited resources.

We are also talking about beta software.

End of story.

Hopefully if this frame drop issue is widespread Apple will refrain from releasing the public until it’s resolved.

Neither is all the complaining about beta software especially in the immediate hours after an update. You all know what participating in a beta entails and yet you act as if this should be finely polished software.

If this remains an issue when 16.2 ships then you can complain. Until then report.
That’s what the forum is for, whining and complaining.
Why would you assume everyone who’s complaining about stuttering isn’t reporting? Read back and you’ll see screenshots of reports filed.

Also as you may have noticed the title of the forum is 16.2 beta 2.

Welp, back off the beta train I go and back to 16.1 The horrid stuttering made me sea sick lol. Seems to be a promotion bug. Hoping beta 3 is better

Happy to report the stuttering has mostly subsided after a hard reset and a few hours of use.
Anyone else’s got better too?

EDIT: Nope! Still got it hanging around like an obsessive ex. Wouldn’t let go.

Frame drops have improved and swiping between pages on the Home Screen no longer stutters (but I did connect to CarPlay and I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence). Now just seeing some slight stuttering at the end of inertial movement after scrolling and letting go.

This - “slight stuttering at the end of inertial movement after scrolling and letting go.”

I didn’t know that. Thank you! See that guys? None of our feedback matters! It’s a beta. It’s all supposed to be broken!

Who said your feedback doesn’t matter? Certainly not me. My point, in case you missed it, is that betas can be less than perfect. That, after all, is one of the key reasons the beta program exists: to find problems and fix them before a general public release.

And the most amusing thing to me is that many of those here who were most vocal about the stuttering are now reporting that it had diminished or disappeared. Just as I and others predicted would occur.

Stutter actually came back for me after I used my phone for a while and opened a couple more Safari tabs. At baseline ramping up/down past a certain Hz made it stutter so starting and ending scrolling caused some visible jittering. Downgrading to beta 1.

Unlike your “holier than thou” attitude my comments actually contributed to the discussion. As you may have noticed there were plenty others experiencing the same.
If being judgmental is the only thing you can contribute then you can create a different thread. Correcting someone is one thing but acting like you’re better than everyone isn’t what the forum is for.
