That’s a third party messaging app right? Try offloading it and reinstall or wait for them to update their app. Might be a conflict with 16.2 they could be working on.

you can duplicate this via Settings -> Passwords as well, I didn't want my passwords exposed so 3rd party app was used for the video

This kept happening today multiple times. Never happened til I installed the RC.

I've had this issue on earlier betas of 16.2 & earlier public release builds of iOS 16. Since installing the 16.2 RC, it's been better for me. I hope it will be for you, too.

I am thankful for the replies, and people trying to help. Unfortunately, none of them work or applicable.

The cable I was using is at work. I use it every day. I was using it that very morning, and through the update process. I keep all my things clean and free of lint. The cable has no issues with other items. Again, the cable has worked fine every day since I got it, including yesterday morning. Only AFTER the update was completed did I experience this issue. Experienced the same issue when I got home with a different cable that stays at home.

In summary, not the cable or phone hardware. Nothing that I can fix.

But I do thank you for trying to help.
 
Upgraded to 16.2 and still does not fix the authentication process when syncing with mac. Urrggh. C'mon Apple, it's not that difficult to fix it. Putting passcode everytime to sync is annoying.
 
RC people (who have had the same build for a bit )has battery been same better or worse than 16.1.X

And beta aficionados how does it compare to 16.2b1 in that regard ?

It’s cooking my battery right now but other than that, it seems solid.

I did an OTA update this time as I was impatient with iTunes, backing up, exporting, etc. Kind of going to do OTA from now on, so much easier

For me it is now working again with 16.2. After the alarm the widget stays blank, but after some time (maybe some hours), it shows the alarm for the next morning from the sleep settings again.

My iPhone X is great on 16.2. I have not encountered any problems and performance / battery life are unchanged. Changes I see in 16.2 are the new way of handling the lock & home screens, wallpaper, dark mode, widgets and notifications. Personally I don’t see any benefit from these changes. So I would say don’t bother.
However I like the new Weather app and 16.2 does allow me to take advantage of the latest Watch OS features.

New Home App architecture a bit of a mixed bag for me…

Working: HomePods (OG and minis), Eufy Security cameras, IKEAs plugs

Not working (through HomeKit, but still working in their dedicated apps):
Hue lights, Tado heating, Logi Circle camera

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Same for me. It works properly with telegram/WhatsApp but with password I have the same lag.

14 pro > lag
14 pro max > lag
13 pro > no lag
13 mini > no lag
12 > no lag

Probably it’s a bu.. new feature 😅 of the 14 pro models

Anyone still getting the "Good morning " screen after morning alarm? Seems that stopped sorta. Like its trying but didn't actually display anything last couple days. Been on RC since release day (12/7) and it was working (as far as I remember).

[Edit] May have discovered the issue. Apparently DND end schedule can't be past your wakeup time. I now have them both set for the same time so will see if it works tomorrow. (DND was set for 5 min later apparently overriding the Good Morning message). Its been a while since I changed my morning alarm back 5 min and I am 99% sure it has worked since then but...... Guess will see tomorrow.

[Edit2] Seems that resolved the issue. Worked fine this morning.
