Here’s a bug I’d never run into before: I had an alarm that was set for this morning. When it didn’t go off I looked at the screen and it was totally off. It wouldn’t power on until I performed a hard reboot (volume up, down, hold power). It’s been running fine since but seems like a bad bug if it’s software-based. Filed a feedback.

Still haven't fixed the alarm not showing up on the lock screen widget for me on my 14 pro max. Laughable that this bug still isn't fixed for so many people.

Same. My alarm clock widget also doesn't update and shows the alarm is off unless I edit my sleep alarm. I think this is broken for the 14 devices but working on older devices, similar to the volume buttons not working while on a call when the proximity sensor is active on older devices but working fine on the 14's.

With these ongoing issues, it really does make me wonder what the hell the developers within Apple are playing at. These aren't isolated instances it would seem.

Yeah, especially these features that aren't obviously device specific functions. Makes these bugs really weird this year compared to previous iOS versions.

Anyone using Healthmate (Withings)? Does the syncing with Health work for you?
The syncing process has always been a bit too slow, sometimes it takes several days for weight data from Healthmate to show up in Health, but now it seems like it’s completely broken. Last successfully synced data was from Dec 6, nothing since RC 🤔
(The access is set up correctly, I even tried toggling off & on to give it a nudge, but nothing.)
Is it me or is it really broken? Can anyone try and respond? Thanks! 🙂

I heard an rumor that these bugs won’t get fixed til 16.4.

Apps suddenly won’t stay in memory.

Random stuttering with swipe up and in games

Random miss touches

Battery life

iPhone 14 focus issue

Random Bluetooth issues

I’m guessing all these are still happening for everyone? Anyone else reporting it to Apple? I heard Mondays are best.
It seems to be taking Apple a lot of time to get iOS 16 into a great state. It’s a real shame as with other major releases we’d be in a good place by the time the #.2 version arrived.

It’s got me thinking that it might be better to hold off for a few months when the iOS 17.# releases drop…at least until they are in a good state.

It’s a disappointment to jump from the very solid iOS 15 to the quite shaky 16 version.

They're busy moving the Safari search bar to the left side of the screen ready for iOS 17. A smaller team is working on putting it back to where it was before, ready for iOS 18.

Updated to the RC from 16.1.2. Does anyone else's screen now turn off when the room is dark rather than show the AOD? When I put the phone on the my charger at night it goes into Always on Display mode for about 30 seconds and then screen shuts off. on 16.1.2 it would stay on for much longer, at least the first hour of charging.

Do you have low power mode on?

I use it and yes there have been recent issues of late. Pretty sure it has to do with the Withings app more so than the OS as it started with their most recent app update. While mine does sync with the Health app (often times it takes a long time even before the latest update as you mentioned.) it stopped showing the weight metric in their own app Dashboard etc… Kind of baffling honestly as its tied to their smart scale and pretty much the main measurement. Looking again now though it is showing up in both Health and the Withings app itself So it is very inconsistent.

No I don't. Settings are the same as I had them on 16.1.2. AOD seems fine any other time, doesn't turn off except when I place phone in my charger in a dark room. Definitely was not doing this before I updated. I even restored once to see if it was a bad install but still doing it.

Is there a timeframe for the official release? I've heard Monday the 12th?

This has bugged the crap out of me since getting the 13 Pro at launch. The phone throttles down the refresh rate WAY TOO often.

I paid for 120hz. I want 120 frames.

Also praying that the stuttering is fixed because 16 has been a stuttery mess just like 15 was for several months.
You didn't, and neither did I, and I don't care if its 120 Hz all the time. I care if things are efficiently used. It just happens in this case that their attempts at scrolling efficiency are so bad that it creates noticeable stutter on every 120 Hz device they make. It isn't just iPhone.

Thanks! Yes there was a recent update of the Withings Health Mate too, I think even the same day as the latest iOS RC. (Weight is still on my Withings dashboard though - the original item got split into two separate metrics, “Weight” and “Body Composition”.)

So just to confirm whether I understood correctly: did any of your Withings weight data sync to the Health app after you updated both? And if so - did you do anything to prompt the sync or did it eventually happen without your intervention?

Thanks for your help - if it’s something I could fix on my end, I would very much like to asap, so that my exercise / VO2max etc data isn’t messed up…

I never Installed the beta so I can’t speak to its relation with any issues the Healthmate app has. Currently on 16.1.2. As of right now it looks as though all the weight data has finally synced for me and everything is correct in Healthmate as should be. I didn’t do anything I know of to initiate any syncing. I did notice previously that several metrics weren’t appearing in the Healthmate app while Actually showing in Health. Strange being as in Health it showed the data source coming from Healthmate. Weird.

A for VO2 Max I don’t believe the Healthmate tracks that. I know my Applewatch does but Healthmate/scale do not?

Thanks. So it must be a the RC 16.2 bug since it works for you on 16.1…

Healthmate might not track VO2max but the weight data is definitely included in the formula - if the weight becomes obsolete, also the calculated VO2max will be inaccurate, as well as e.g. calories burned during an exercise. It’s all related 🙂

So I’m now trying to reinstall Healthmate and if it doesn’t help, I’ll report a 16.2 bug to Apple.

My battery life has actually got worse the past few days on my 13 Pro Max. I really hope this isn’t the final release. Probably have 20-30% less on a charge than I did on 16.1.2.

Also having lots of heat issues. I had to turn my phone off yesterday for about 20 min to get it to cool down.

I use Heathmate daily. I have a scale and their sleep pad and i have not seen to many issues with sync. I think i had one day where it took my sleep forever to sync but that was about it.. Generally its worked really well for me.

That said, I will add I did join their TestFlight and alternate between their "production" and their TestFlight Version.

Maybe you want to look in to it?

Not on beta since iOS 16.0 general release, but yes I have this issue. Hard quitting Apple Health and Healthmate and reopening them helped to sync the data between the two apps, but for some reason, it doesn't work automatically as before

That sometimes worked before (but rather randomly / intermittently), now it doesn’t… I’ve contacted Withings support, reported the issue and also asked how to force sync, I’m wondering whether they’ll help, but I suspect it’s the 16.2 iOS fault 🤔

Hmmm like running not just iOS beta but also Withings beta? Sounds adventurous! 😀 But thanks for the idea, it’s good to know that this option exists, I’ll keep it in mind.

I only have their scale, it’s been working okay-ish (except it lost wifi at some point and won’t reconnect anymore, so I’m relying on BT only, but it’s not bugging me too much), meaning - not super fast but always synced eventually, till last Tuesday.

So, thanks for the feedback - I’m wondering what the outcome will be. If I’m super lucky the next iOS update might fix it 😏
