No, I highly doubt it. I use it every day, and was using it in the morning before the update. Only after the update did it start having problems.
Just a guess. It still might be the cable. Maybe something in the update queries the cable differently. If you have one around try a different cable if only to eliminate this possibility.

Sing fixes lyrics timing it seems. Finally.
For example, Lose Yourself by Eminem from the Album Just Loose It had the lyrics show in advance, now it’s all tight and the word flow is very accurate.
Appreciate it, Apple
It’s also pretty good for what it is.
In Get Up, Stand Up by Marley and the Wailers for example the choir does bleed through a little.
In A Little Respect by Erasure loud, higher frequency vocals may still be heard at times, but it’s impressive how well it does cancel them out.

I wish Airdrop for Everyone could be enabled in Settings. I personally appreciate the occasional meme on the train.
It’s not that difficult to make the decision to only receive from contacts, why is this forced on everyone? How about a work setting where files are airdropped between Macs and iPads that don’t have each others user in contacts? Now you gotta turn on Everyone for 10 minutes all the time.

In contacts, at the bottom of contacts there is now a “Add to List” button.
Only took some 10 years or so

So I have a Windows PC and still use iTunes from the Microsoft Store on it to purchase movies and TV shows. (Yeah I know it's not the best app, but I still use it.) In order to use Advanced Data Protection I had to remove the PC from the list of my devices in the app. When I launch iTunes now it says that I have to have the latest version of iCloud software in order to authenticate back in with iTunes. I never have had the iCloud App for Windows installed and would prefer not to have to install it. Has there been any word if there will be an update to the iTunes app that will allow it to still function even after ADP is enabled with an Apple ID?

I embrace new software security software. Will advanced data protection protect my privacy so NSA has no access to my photo library any other access to my  devices / iCloud account? I can assure Governments that I am no pedophile and consider those acts involving children to be atrocious plus I have no criminal record and commit no crimes. So PLEASE don‘t tell me the Governments are protecting the public by checking my bu🈂️ for warts when actually they’re blowing smoke up my ar$e.

Apple recently announced that they had abandoned plans to scan images for CSAM. The article was linked in some other posts in another thread. If you have ADP enabled for your account no one but you is able to see your data not Apple, not a hacker and not the Government.

Updated iPhone 13, iPad 9th gen, HomePodMini, Apple TV 2nd gen, Watch 8 - everything seems to work as it should for my hacked together smart home.

Prior to this I had random Siri/connection issues with home automation (Hue, cheapo outlet switches, and a Neato robot). Siri and I had major falling out, almost called a divorce attorney there.

I rarely jump into an update right away, but I was feeling lucky (desperate) today. :p

🤞

It's hard to believe that with all the talented designers working at Apple they can still come up with something as god awful as the Freeform app icon. This is the best they could do? I'm dumb founded. Is really so hard to give all the icons a uniform style, at the moment it's a complete mess.

I think you can have the iCloud app on your Windows machine but turn off all synchronization features etc and essentially not use. iCloud for Windows is available in the Microsoft Store.

I'm still a little confused about this data protection thing. Is it necessary to activate or should I leave it alone. I know it's enhanced security, but the stuff about it being hard to recover things if I lose my password gives me some pause.
At a minimum I’m waiting awhile. I don’t want to be an early adopter just in case there are any issues.

I’m not seeing any weather news in the Weather app in spite of trying different cities including ones in central US that are supposedly being pummeled by precipitation. Any ideas?
