I’m not seeing any weather news in their Weather app in spite of trying different cities including ones in central US that are supposedly being pummeled by precipitation. Any ideas?
I don’t see any news either. Tried a few different big cities. I’m actually glad I don’t though. I like the simple clean interface as is. (Minus the radar)

I'd like the option of seeing weather news in the Weather app. I can see it annoying some users, so an option to turn on and off that feature would be great.

Does the sing option let you use your phone as a mic when used with the Apple TV? If not, why not 😝

That is a lot of great new features from .x release. Very nice.

Has any product ever been made as useless by the its own manufacturer than AirTags? Every update just moves them closer and closer to pointless.

can't update my home, nor can i enable ADP.
"unknown error occured, please try again later" which I have been doing for hours. also restarted everything

Nice, apple.

Umm.. I thought I read that in one of the recent betas the morons at Apple finally did the right thing and removed notifications from that completely moronic hidden ‘old’ submenu?

In my testing of iOS 16.2 I’m still seeing notifications become hidden…

I think you can have the iCloud app on your Windows machine but turn off all synchronization features etc and essentially not use. iCloud for Windows is available in the Microsoft Store.
Thanks I found it in the Microsoft Store and downloaded and installed, but did as you recommended and turned off all the synchronization. I rebooted and then tried to sign into iTunes and it still tells me to upgrade to the latest version of iCloud app and sign in that way, so I guess there are still some issues. haha

As a plus my Windows machine now shows up in the device list on my Apple ID which it did not before.

That is odd because on my Windows machine, I too have iCloud and iTunes and it works with Advanced Data Protection. The Windows machine is my work computer and everything else personal is Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

Consider uninstalling iTunes then reinstalling. Good luck!

At a minimum I’m waiting awhile. I don’t want to be an early adopter just in case there are any issues.
If it makes you feel any better, the encryption is not a new thing. Parts of your iCloud data have been end to end encrypted for several years. Other parts were only encrypted in transit but not at rest. This change moves most of the iCloud data into the fully encrypted class where Apple does not hold a key. The encryption mechanism has already been working for the last few years.

Much to do about nothing. Sure, there’s more features and a little bit of eye candy but the same bugs are still there after the update, so…🤷‍♂️
Did you miss the article that listed a large number of security bugs that were fixed?

Thanks. Tried uninstalling iTunes and then rebooted and did a re-install no luck.

Also uninstalled iCloud App again and then re-installed with iCloud first, then iTunes - no luck.
Uninstalled everything again, then tried installing the opposite order - no luck.

Also did reboots between each of the app installs or uninstalls for good measure just to be sure.

It seems it hates me. LOL

That’s too bad. I don’t have any more tricks :( I can say it works for me and I have a similar setup insofar as having iTunes for windows and iCloud for windows.

Dear Apple, thanks for the new FreeForm app. But also thanks for screwing up all of my carefully placed app icons by insisting that FreeForm is crammed into the first page, thereby shifting all of my apps by one scree and making me have to waste time re-moving everything back to where they were.

mine put it on the second screen. if I go into settings and reset the Home Screen layout it puts it next to "tips" on the second page.

I just upgraded to iOS 16.2 (iPhone 11 Pro) and the location services for Find my phone keep running, anyone else? Soft reset didn't work so far. Thanks
