Not quite. Apple doesn't report battery levels or battery health in detail in its GUI, those are just general (cheerful) figures. For instance, I have a 13 mini, which after 166 load cycles is still well above even its design capacity, see attached screenshot from coconutBattery Plus. Mainly because I have charged it between 20 and 80 percent only. Such a regime greatly improves battery performance overall. But the fact that the battery's full charge capacity is above its design capacity is just down to luck, not one battery is chemically identical to another. Now, please don't second guess coconutBattery's stats, they are legit (the app uses iOS's own internal measurements).

If they’re that accurate then why does it fluctuate so much as the SoC increases? Shouldn’t it be one number top-down?

They’re all estimates and without proper hardware you can’t get an accurate number. It’s all calculated using algorithms based on a few variables.

No, the chemistry in the battery fluctuates with charging and uncharging, it does not display linear performance. The figures are real time. You can experience this especially in cold weather, a normally charged battery can suddenly drop to zero just because of sudden changes in the chemistry within the battery.

As earlier in iOS 16 this morning I got the Apple ID request when I took my phone off the charger and unlocked it with Face ID. Also as before tapping “cancel” dismissed the notification with no further interaction necessary. In the early days of 16 I believe most were only seeing this after a restart but I haven’t restarted my phone in several days so this surprised me. But again canceling got rid of it. Got it on my iPad Pro also on 16.4.1. Canceling dismissed it also.

Are there any pages actually supporting push notifications on iOS yet? I saved WhatsApp web to my home screen on iPad, it even asked me if I want to receive notifications but I am not getting any when people write me.

Also weird how there isn’t really a menu or settings for this feature. It’s like they don’t want people to know it actually exists

Safari now finally shows text/plain pages with black background and white text when in dark mode.
Before it was white background with black text.

I don’t believe that was a bug, certain iCloud services were down overnight the other day. I believe that why I got those ID requests, my phone and ipad probably tried to connect to iCloud Mail during the night and couldn’t get access. Everything seemed to be resolved by yesterday morning.

To follow up for my Apple Music woes, i'm still having the freezing along with now skipping when I play streamed music. Start is delayed then it ends up acting weird and playing multiple parts of the song at once for like 10 seconds before straightening itself out. I've tried it on multiple tracks and I've never experienced this kind of glitch before.

Powered my iPhone off and on while at my home and suddenly Home decided I wasn’t home anymore. All my away automations fired and I started getting notifications.

Nothing I tried got it to recognized I was home. Finally I tried powering it off and on again and that worked.

Also the Movies Anywhere link status and disconnect button has been missing from the iTunes media account page since 16.4. As such there’s no way to disconnect iTunes from Movies Anywhere if all you have is iOS 16.4(.1) devices. Work around is to use a Mac or iOS 15.7.5 compatible device.

You can manage your accounts inside the Movies Anywhere app and website. It always seemed strange to me for Apple to include Movies Anywhere settings inside its own apps.

Maybe Apple fixed this as it’s been a few years, but last time I had to unlink Movies Anywhere to fix things, I had to do so on both the Movies Anywhere site and in my iTunes account. Unlinking just on the MA side would not allow me to link back to my iTunes account as it thought it was already linked.

Apple is the only MA provider that has no way to disconnect the MA connection from a web site they own.

My camera app doesnt exhibit the "video" button anymore in the camera app. I suppose thats on purpose but am I missing something? there is no way to record video now without holding the photo button?

Why would that be on purpose?

Force quit camera app, and then reboot your phone or do a hard reboot.

(BTW: Mine still has it of course.)

I have to say after being on a cruise this week with no Wi-Fi, the offline music bug is a pain in the @$$

Intermittently shows iCloud Drive circled attached. Appears sometimes. Sometimes doesn’t.
