This build is buttery. Really impressed. Still waiting for a squared notification since every other release has had them. I do agree that it’s beyond understanding how it hasn’t gotten fixed. For such front-facing bugs I always imagine their leadership seeing this stuff and wondering how they react. Another user suggested that they just can’t fix it, but that seems pretty unbelievable. I mean, If they can’t fix it after 6 months perhaps they should not be working for Apple. I suspect it’s likely more of a priority issue. Though, again, why ignore such a common ui glitch that undoubtedly invites criticism of the quality of the product? 🤷‍♂️ Either way, this is the best my 14 pro has functioned since I got it at launch.
Crazy how this time around the flagship models still have apparent issues so long after release…hopefully not a sign of Apple to come.

My 14PM battery health was still at 100% since launch day, until earlier this month… at which point it went down to 99%… then 98%… 97%… now I’m down to 96% !!

I’m not sure what accounts for the sudden and severe decrease in battery health in just a matter of weeks. For the record I have not installed any of these betas so it is not related to 16.4 in any way. My usage or charging habits haven’t really changed either.
If you are speaking of a launch day device I would not say it is "sudden". A battery can never actually be 100% after it is used at all much less charged and discharged every day for almost a year. Just saying. More like the reporting is what was sketchy and is perhaps catching up to reality.

Mine did that the other day when using my 13 mini, the only device I had connected to an Apple 35W Dual-Port Adapter (my typical charging setup, other than an Apple MagSafe Charger + 20W Adapter).

Right now it is once again on the 35W Dual-Port and trickle-charging at 99%, taking its lovely time and nearly cool to the touch on the back. I respect and find endearing that you only charge with a 5W Adapter…that is the real 🐐 G.O.A.T…but I also tend to love and trust Apple’s proprietary charging tech and don’t shy away from enjoying perks like fast-charging and/or MagSafe within that framework.

Amazing that nearly one year after acquiring the 13 mini and heavily charging/using it this way the battery health has held up so well (currently 94%). In my experience Apple really did an excellent job with 13-series battery chemistry and engineering over the 12.

Also I will deeply miss Lightning and wish Apple had continued to iterate upon and improve it. USB-C just feels so…cheap, sorry. It’s a sharp-edged hollow shell whereas Lightning is a smooth-ended, sculptural pillar. Love my M1 MacBook Air but it’d be nice if it had MagSafe because, again, Apple’s own charging interfaces are just it for me.

Yes sir! Love charging with a classic Apple 5W Charger. I will continue to use that in the future as well. It doesn't overheat my iPhone at all. Yesterday, my phone took a little beating. I was on a phone call, using active navigation and taking photos all at the same time lol. It's back to normal now.

Furthermore, anytime my iPhone overheats in the car I usually turn on the AC in full blast with cold air and put my iPhone in front of the incoming air. It cools the iPhone down really fast. (Little life hack). I will deeply miss the lightning too but I think it's time.

I only have a 5W charger, so that's what I use for my 11 :) I plug the phone in, turn it off, go to bed. Doesn't need anything more to charge up overnight.

Someone gave me a wireless charger, but it seems such a waste - wireless charging is inefficient.

The one issue with my "workflow" is that the optimised charging doesn't work, as the phone is off every time it's charging.

All of these betas are really upsetting me.
In addition to earlier issues reported in b2 or b3...
1. My camera doesn't come on half the time. Black screen. Have to close/restart camera.
2. Phone - call failed.
3. Now speakerphone/bluetooth option isn't working - it's freezing with half the shaded icon as normal.

I've cleared my phone and don't have many apps to begin with. Limited MDM with my company but that's never been an issue before. Gigabit internet + Verizon 5G (regular or 5G UW with some fast LTE-A in my area).

Really upsetting me.

At least headphones (AirPods Pro and Beats Fit Pro) connect more reliably now.

Never had a square cornered notification.

Wondering if it’s a unique combination of settings triggering this bug.
I was wondering what this was, I’ve never seen it either. I had to do quite a search to find an image. Definitely never seen anything like that on any phone - 14PM currently.

Never seen it either. You have the image you found? I have searched and not found one. Just curious at this point to see what all the fuss is about.

I think it’s in one of the older threads. Took me a long time to find it. The image I saw did have sharp corners but I’ve never come across this.

Battery life has been the best on this beta since the earlier versions of iOS 16 when I first got my 14PM. I’m kinda scared to update to any new iOS betas/versions after this because I’m so tired of having bad battery life.
That’s awesome!! Do you mind sharing your battery stats, please?

I’m sorry but if these things are really upsetting you, why did you sign up to a beta program?

I don't think anyone else is having the problems lindros2 is, so it's probably not a beta issue but some corruption which happened during the install.

Assuming they've already done a hard reboot, then the next step would be a reinstall of the beta.

Sometimes just reinstalling from a downloaded .ipsw file in Finder fixes a LOT of these type of issues.

::EDIT::
I want to emphasize that I'm referring to just installing the current iOS/iPadOS straight over itself. No restore or anything major. Download the .ipsw file, connect your iDevice, and then hold Option & select 'Check for Update'. Then browse to the downloaded .ipsw file and wait for it to finish. THEN, after about a day or so, maybe even 36+ hours, reboot the iPhone/iPad and assume all is well from that point and only that point. There could be plenty of indexing and file swap happening in the background, sometimes for hours or longer. Wait, then reboot.
