Yeah, it's crap.I still don't think I understand how to use the Wallpapers on IOS. I want to change the wallpaper and it gives me an entirely new home screen where I have to place the widgets again. I'm kinda getting frustrated by it.
I don't like the Sports tab icon. To me, it looks like a ticket stub. I get that it's supposed to be a basketball court and yes it does look like that. But at a quick glance, it looks more like a ticket stub to me.liking the sports tab in News
SRP gave me two free Nest thermostats the other day myself. I have an Emerson sensi already but the Nest simply looks better on the wall.HomeKit just improved for me after I started installing the iOS 16.4 betas and was promoted to update our underlying Home infrastructure.
HomeKit compatible Meross smart plugs that never worked reliably in the Home app but worked well in the Meross app suddenly started working perfectly without delay in both.
Previously I’d have to delete and re-add them to the Home app every couple of weeks, they’d start responding slowly and not properly updating their status in the Home app then they’d stop responding to it at all and only function in the Meross app.
Since the update they work every time and I’ve moved my automations from the Meross app back into the Home app with the automations for my other lights and things work without a hitch. I’ll hang onto the app just for firmware updates since I’m not sure if they self update when using them through the Home app or not.
I also just got a Nest thermostat free from our local power company. I had it installed two days ago and now that the device supports Matter and the Google Home iOS app has been updated to allow you to generate a code to add the thermostat to Home via Matter I’ve been able to generate the code in the Google Home app and add the device to the Apple Home app allowing my wife and I to finally control every smart item we have except for the garage door opener from within the Home app.
Being able to open the garage door with an app was a nice surprise. The garage door that came with the home failed so they put in a new one and it just happens to support WiFi with an app that lets you open or close the door from it. So it was a nice plus but not why I bought it and not something I really use once the novelty wore off since opening the door from the pad only takes a few seconds. It’s open by the time I hop in the car and get buckled up.
You and me both. Zero interest in sports and I hope I’m able to turn it off like I can Apple Music’s tab in the Music app after this update. How do I turn off ALL Apple sports marketing & news? In iOS, iPadOS, Apple App Store, Apple TV, MacOS … everywhere. I am not interested in team & performance sports at all, and I want it gone from my sight on my devices. So far, I see no Preferences/Settings thing to express this preference of mine, and it annoys me.
Thanks for this warning. I have not updated yet, and I believe i’ll wait. I use spotlight, far too often to have it mess up on me.This is what’s new… Spotlight search failed on me after updating.
The keyboard disappeared, spotlight search bar moved to the middle. iPhone froze.

Have you reported this to Apple?
Carrot Weather is great! The Weather Widget is still not fixed.
Which one is correct? Frustrating and unreliable! At least iOS 16.5 got the temperature right. 🤦🏻♀️
- The widget is reporting: Thunderstorm ⛈️
- When you open the weather app, it’s reporting: Mostly Sunny. 🌤️

Apple has heard users love iOS over android because of updates, so they are giving what users want. "Fake" updatesObligatory, why do we need an OS update for a Sports Tab and some wallpapers. I get it for the security stuff, but relying on an OS update to update apps is so old school.
Come on Apple.
Serious question. Now many Indian "guys" prefer Apple over Google or some Chinese brand? For you I watched this Indian guy venting his confirmation bias, highlighting every little difference as a win for big G.
So now you should watch this! :
What'a fake about fixing some important exploits?Apple has heard users love iOS over android because of updates, so they are giving what users want. "Fake" updates
I'm not a spokesperson for India, but I would assume that the vast majority of Indians still don't have the luxury to care about brands and must choose the cheapest option available to them. That's where Android (and in the past also Windows) offer real value to the customer by computerising a world, which for the most part can't afford Macs. Whole entrepreneurial careers like those of Henry Ford and Bill Gates are build upon making an existing product more affordable to the masses. And why shouldn't people enjoy the few benefits which come with their... we don't even had a choice to prefer something else?!Serious question. At some level it doesn't matter...perception is reality as you are pointing out.Apple has heard users love iOS over android because of updates, so they are giving what users want. "Fake" updates
