In my experience with iOS 16.5, I’m more convinced than ever that Apple does little if any in-house testing
I also get the impression that lately Apples developers don't test let alone use an iPhone.
Yeah great, the first listed "improvement/fix" of iOS 16.5 are wallpapers - but the Alarm widget still shows "Off" although an alarm is set...
Proper widgets I cannot simply download from the www unlike a bazillion pictures.
What more can one do than give feedback including a screen-recording?
[only when the set time is less than 20 hours away, then it suddenly appears...]

How’s the battery life?
big improvement for me but I don't if this only because of iOS 16.5

before I would charge the phone and leave it 90% before I went to bed, only to find it a 75% the following morning (6-8 hours sleep)

with iOS 16.5 I leave it at 90% and find it a 88% in the morning...same 6-8 hours sleeps. No gimmicks, no low power mode etc

before I had to charge it every day at 6pm with 5% left, now I can go till 11pm with 25% left.

we'll see if it lasts!

Basically this generation doesn’t even want to read the update detailed description. They just open the mouth and throw a “Why Apple send an update for a wallpaper and a tab! That Tim is a dumb CEO!” Then, very far in a corner, 250 fixes are looking from the distance with sad faces….

Please tell me it’s possible to disable/hide the sports tab….?
Seriously, every month or so Apple starts a new sportsball campaign. I wish there was a way to make it go away... This new tab, the spam in Apple TV+... Why can I block certain channels but I can't just have one slider that just disables all sports news and broadcasts?

I've been considering finding some alternative to Apple News because all this sports stuff (like having to scroll through the scores of some games where I don't even know the rules or teams) to read my news. It's also been bugging my on my Apple TV, but the series are too good... still the ability to just turn off all Sports is starting to become the #1 feature on my wishlist...

Apple TV is falling well short of its potential. Securing live kick-ball coverage is a step in the right direction, but it isn’t enough and Apple is placing WAY too much emphasis on it.

What Apple TV needs is more like what YouTube and Hulu offer live streaming content wise.
