I'm seeing a lot of Siri running in the background in my battery usage even with "Hey Siri" turned off. Anyone else?
I get amazing battery life with every OS release… but my phone also sits on a wireless charging dock on my desk almost all day… and then is plugged into my car for CarPlay…. So yeah haha
That's mighty presumptuous of you.
People that claim better battery life say it in relative to their experience with recent builds. The only time they can claim an absolute improvement would be when they upgrade to a new device. There's a ton of reasons someone could be experiencing improved battery while others don't on the exact same build and even on the same model. Most of it comes down to the apps and their relative settings and their usage.
My batt usage with Siri over past 24h is 1% with Hey Siri off…hmm
I have Siri off on my iPad however … yeah, she answered a question I didn’t ask. In the midst of a conversation.
Didn’t respond when I asked a question.
Checked and she is off.
Seriously odd.
Off the charger today I’ve had 51 min screen on time and 28 min streaming Spotify and I’m still at 94%. That’s the best I’ve had since I purchased my 13 Pro Max on release day.
This battery life is amazing, iphone 11, 80% battery health, original battery since I purchased it on release, had a phone call today lasting 4h36min, used up about 25% battery and I have so far 6h40min screen on time and still 47% left 👍👍 iOS 16.5RC, only been using 5w charger.

Battery use for my 13PM is pretty much unchanged except for overnight.
I was seeing 2%-3% but two nights in a row now at 6%-7% with no indication what is using it.
Other items:
1. Select all in Safari is still awol.
2. After redoing Notification between the 13PM and AWU (AWU is not beta) alerts (sound and haptic) are missing for Messages and Phone on the watch. I get Mail and Calendar alerts.
Earlier I mentioned notification sync mismatch. Here is a great example.
Mail - I get something in my Exchange Mail. This is on my 13PM, iPad, AWU, and MBP. Alert (sound and haptic) can be as far apart as 5 minutes between devices. AWU is set to mirror iPhone and usually gets it before the iPhone.
Proton Mail - When I get new mail or a calendar notice, alerts for all four devices occur with 10-15 seconds.

Well I think a lot of it comes down to if you're on WiFi or 5G/LTE too. If you're out and about throughout the day and using 5G the battery will most definitely drain more than using the same apps at home on wifi most of the time.

Any one else having an issue with Instagram pulling up in the safari browser? Not the iOS app or the iPadOS app just in Safari. I am getting an error on my MacBook, iPad and iPhone. I am on the RC for all my devices. This seems to be the only issue and it just recently started.

Yes, it works in Edge to but I like Safari so I thought I would check to see it was just me.

Quite interesting results to see. Nice to be in 48% of people, that are happy with 16.5 RC. I do hope, they won't break anything for the public release build
I hope that this RC is the released version. It’s probably the best version iOS/iPadOS version 16.x.x I have used. Battery life too is, for me, excellent.

Getting all sorts of bugs in Apple Music. AirPods skipping and crackling, songs skipping, music app bugging, etc.
Hope they fix this before wide release or it’s gonna be another bumpy set of justifications/another unnecessary long release due to poor software QC from apple.

I don't have any issues on any of my devices opening instagram.com in Safari. Do you have Private Relay turned on or any ad blocker extensions installed?
Looks like I did have private relay turned on. I turned it off and then checked the website and it worked. I also turned it back on and it still works. I really appreciate the help.
