I don't know why, the weather app is continuously running in the background. On the lock screen I don't use any weather widgets, and a force restart doesn't seem to be stopping it.

I’ve got a weather widget on Lock Screen and through the night you can see the screen off battery time is still running and tiny light blue markers are there. Must be the widgets still working through periods of no use and even with do not disturb on. Probably will get refined as we go on.

So is it stable enough to install on a daily? I have an itch that I just have to scratch

I don’t think anyone here can answer that as would relate to what you will experience since different things are affecting different users, er, differently. I think the best advice is to make that encrypted backup while your are still on iOS 15 and know how to restore back to iOS 15 if there’s a problem.

Generally, though, the tenor in this thread is that things are going reasonably well.

Well I havent had a single app crash yet, only some battery drain and banking apps not working. Other than those few things it feels super smooth for a first beta.

Maps for me when adding a stop has quit out a couple of times.

Apart from that, I don’t feel like I’m on a beta. It’s the best b1 I’ve tested.

I had very good success with the stops feature yesterday when I was still on iOS 16, other than that Maps did not notify the person I was sharing my route with that I was on the way.

My iPhone is still pretty warm when using it two days in, especially when adjusting lock screens (less so when using apps). It's not a deal-breaker, though. I have had no instability or issues with apps (others than MS Teams).

You got any runaway apps over processing? Have a look in battery settings.

Massive photo album still syncing or stuck?

Tried a couple of hard restarts?

Cold as ice on my ip12.

anyone figure out how to stop the “allow paste” pop up from coming up every time when pasting from another app or device?

I still have Teams working “okay” on both my iPad Pro and IP12PM, but one of my chats with my team, crashes the app when I try to open it…it’s weird, because i was able to open any of the 12 other active chats I have going. Just that one (the one I need most) crashes every time on both the iPad and iPhone.

I’ll get to see if Maps is still giving me an issue with my rental car CarPlay (late model Audi A4).

Battery lifer seems decent for me…iPhone just plugged in to charge me up for the rest of the day, but was probably only down to 64% after 8 hours of work (not really heavy use).

I’m surviving…all I can ask of beta 1 on two necessary devices…hah!

Did the weather app notifications change at all? I am specifically hoping that the weather app now alerts (popup) with a weather alert is issued for the area you are in. I still to this day can't believe this hasn't been put in the app, especially since it does show weather alerts, just no notification.

If I had to guess “readability” is a setting to ensure that there is enough contrast between the background and your app icons/names so that the latter don’t “disappear”.

I reckon Readability is the reason for the shadow they were not happy about. Stops it being white on white text.

I don't usually have bluetooth on, so this could be a bug from before iOS 16, but ...

Continuity tells me on my phone "Safari: From macbook" and when I open it, it goes to the page I'm looking at on my laptop. No surprises there, right? Except I never, really never, use Safari on my laptop (it's in private browsing mode and no tabs are open) and the tab Safari mobile then opens to is the one I'm using here, in Firefox. ♫ Twighlight Zone ♫
Normal. I get that often between Safari and Chrome between devices.

I got a weather alert yesterday from the weather app!

For a first beta...not too bad in my experience so far. Work has taught me to be superstitious (full moons, the "Q" word, etc) so I'm probably going to hate myself for mentioning this...but my bank's app WORKS! I wasn't that lucky with beta 1 of iOS 13, 14, or 15!

But onto the issues that have been most noticeable to me on the phone...
  • Setting wallpapers is a bit buggy.
  • Lock Screen widgets occasionally blink in and out.
  • The biggest issue...is battery, but it's beta 1 so you pretty much expect that, so can't complain too much (but did mention it in Feedback anyway). Definitely reaching for my charger during the day, which is something I rarely have to do.
Other than that...not bad so far. Nothing truly crippling.

On the iPad, the biggest issue is actually with the weather app! Opening it first thing yesterday morning, the data didn't load. Rebooting the iPad fixed it and then didn't have that problem for the rest of the day. Had to do the same thing this morning. Another issue is with the sunrise/sunset times for different locations not in the same time zone as me. I have a few locations saved in my weather app that are in different time zones. When looking at sunrise/sunset times, it shows those times as if they were in my time zone. An example is an 8:30pm sunset in California showing up as 10:30pm because it's showing the time as it would be where I am instead of where that location actually is.

Any ideas on what it could be causing this?

At this point, no.
I am running a 6e system with numerous devices attached and all are doing great. The iPad Pro was also until I placed 16 on it.

It starts out great then within a few seconds the speed nosedives. This is for download only.
Same test on the 13 ProMax on 15.5 or Thinkpad on Win10 both show stable DL.
Only the iPad Pro 11 2020 on 16 shows this drop-off behavior.

I've tried network settings, reboot of the router, hard reboot of the iPad. Nothing has had any effect.

Here is the 13 ProMax on 15.5 same time frame. The units are pretty much side by side (my desk).
