Speaking of search.. is anyone else's iOS 16 beta 1 search SUPER SLOW when it comes to finding an app to launch? I've had this since minutes of availability, so I'm not scratching this up to 'indexing' any longer..

It didn’t seem so originally, but yes I do. 13 max pro. 1-3 seconds for a search.

My iPad Pro max 11 is showing zero delay. Perhaps related to the new Home Screen? Though I’m still using an old one

😆😂 Yet there binary identical 🤥

If that’s the case, reinstalling using the IPSW file shouldn’t of made any difference. But it does Craig. Another beaming example.

Apple you need to sort out the quality of your OTA product, there are some cracks and it creates more problems than it’s worth. FACT! 🫳🏼🎤

Changing the volume up or down with your finger, not side buttons, causes the silent mode banner to drop down🤔. IP12.

I hope they will find a way to fix this. Maybe do it so that the auto-complete interface limits itself within the Safari window. Otherwise, the UI is unusable, as it’s hidden behind the dock.

Update: The auto-fill UI is auto-containing in other apps (such as the Twitter app), so I assume it’s Safari that needs fixing.

Weather widget battery drain is dropping off since Tuesday. Wonder if that’s any changes server side that’s aided that.

I do wonder whether widgets somehow "learn" how frequently to update, and it gets reset after a major iOS upgrade. Anyone know?

I use Readdle's Calendar 5 and for a couple of days, each time I rebooted my phone, the widget would be empty. I could "fix" the issue by deleting and re-adding the widget. However, around 3 days after installing the beta, the issue resolved itself.

I had the same with Logitech Harmony's widget (iOS 13 style!!) which wouldn't work after a reboot, but now is fine.

That would make sense.
First time for everything 😜😆

I’ll keep an 👁 on the next beta. See if we get this high usage at the beginning and then it tailors off. 👍🏼

Probably 5 major iOS releases later and I still have the issue of not being able to delete certain iMessage attachments with iCloud Messages enabled. I cannot believe this is still not resolved. For example, I select image X and Y and when I click delete, it is still there OR it seems to be deleted but when I go out and back into the same conversation, the just deleted photo is suddenly back again.

Also, I usually go into iPhone Storage > Messages and delete every single photo / video one by one (since there is STILL no delete all button either) and thus, my list is empty, yet when I randomly check some iMessage conversations, there are still photos 🤷🏽‍♂️

I had to delete the app because the drainage was brutal. On top of that, I didn't use widgets or the app itself. I installed it now to try, and it has already started to drain like there is no tomorrow, apart from helping the phone to heat up. And now in Spain we have extreme hot temperatures, so I don't need an app to help the phone heat up even more.
Oh, and it's not the location as some said, because I have it set to use it only if I open the app, and the widgets don't have permission to use the location, so if it runs in the background it's for some other reason.

Sensible then to delete it for now. Sounds brutal. Maybe try adding it back in every new beta till it’s had its fix?

If it’s any consolation the battery drainage showed 7hrs off screen at one point, but I wasn’t physically seeing that in the battery %. Battery has been really strong on this beta for me, so I’m not convinced that everything's syncing up and reading accurately for the time being. It all just feels like a rough guide, if that.

See post 1116 and a great point made by @adrianlondon underneath.
