I was having a nice experience (for a beta 1) up until yesterday. My iPad has started rebooting (not repsringing) after waking it sometimes. 3 times since this morning. Nothing new on it, no different patterns of use that I can discern. Not a big deal, otherwise I wouldn't have installed it, but mildly irritating.

Sorry if it's been asked before but where did they hide iCloud Private Relay in Settings? Can't find it.
It's in the iCloud panel inside Settings. If you cannot see it, try signing out of and back into iCloud. That fixed it for me.

I'm posting this in both 16 and 15.6 beta threads.

iPad Pro 11 2020 - 16.0 b1
iPhone 13 ProMax - 15.6 b2

I've posted in both the 15.6b2 thread and the 16.0 b1 thread on this issue - slow to launch apps; my OnePlus 9 Pro is quicker.

The 13 ProMax is OTA
The iPad Pro 11 was OTA then ipsw.

Both suffer from this issue.

Spent some time comparing both devices on Wi-Fi (6e), 5G, LTE, and in Airplane Mode.

1. If the app is native and runs only native it is very fast.
2. If the app queries the internet or does a guick pull it is fast irrespective of Wi-Fi, 5G, or LTE.
3. If the app pulls/fetches from the internet and has a live link (up and down) it is slow. Doesn't matter if it is Wi-Fi, 5G, or LTE. Once it launches and is up and running (ready for use) it is generally very fast.

For #3, I'll use Proton Mail as an example, if I place the device in Airplane Mode it is fast. Turn off Airplane Mode and it crawls at launch.
This does appear to fit into on again - off again issue many of us are seeing with Wi-Fi. If it was the internet site/source or Wi-Fi, 5G, or LTE, I would be seeing this across all my devices (OnePlus 9 Pro Android 11, Lenovo X280 Ubuntu 20.04, Lenovo X280 Win10 (x2), Galaxy Chromebook, MBP 2015 Monterey). I'm not. Everything is running great on all but the iDevices.

Here is to hoping that Apple eventually fixes this issue.
I have posted Feedback.

😆😂 with your 1000 unread emails, 57 missed calls and 150 unread messages… I was expecting something like 17,500 duplicates.

1 😆😂

I managed my contacts pretty well but my notifications got out of hand so I don’t bother to check all of them. Glad I don’t have OCD and many aren’t that important to respond to 😂

Merging Contacts

Tried this a few days back. I deliberately set Contacts source to iCloud.
Went back in today and all duplicates are back.
One item has me baffled; you can view where the duplicate contacts are coming from, of the 13 I have left they all have as source; iCloud and Unknown.

Anyone have any idea what is "Unknown"?

I had to delete the app because the drainage was brutal. On top of that, I didn't use widgets or the app itself. I installed it now to try, and it has already started to drain like there is no tomorrow, apart from helping the phone to heat up. And now in Spain we have extreme hot temperatures, so I don't need an app to help the phone heat up even more.
Oh, and it's not the location as some said, because I have it set to use it only if I open the app, and the widgets don't have permission to use the location, so if it runs in the background it's for some other reason.
I had bad drain with the weather widget until I disabled location services for the weather app. This stops the app/widget from constantly polling GPS data, but also prevents you from getting weather notifications from your "current" location. I took a compromise and saved a few primary locations.

I don't travel a whole lot but can easily add in a location if I do. 🤷‍♂️

😆😂 Yet there binary identical 🤥

If that’s the case, reinstalling using the IPSW file shouldn’t of made any difference. But it does Craig. Another beaming example.

Apple you need to sort out the quality of your OTA product, there are some cracks and it creates more problems than it’s worth. FACT! 🫳🏼🎤
Just for sake of argument, is it possible that a reinstall is the fix more so than the type (OTA/IPSW)? Never can tell because you can't reinstall via OTA. But IF they are 100% identical as Apple says, then the process of a reinstall would be the silver bullet more so than the way you install. Again just food for thought. :)

That is an interesting thought.

Kind of like the reinstall "paves over" the problem areas?

Been playing around with Contacts.
Had a few duplicate Contacts so I tried to merge them.
No Joy...
I get the static spinning wheel and it just sits there. No error or other indicator but nothing ever merges.View attachment 2015513View attachment 2015515View attachment 2015516View attachment 2015514
I thought I remembered seeing this. I just tried this on my iPad Pro and got the same result. I even restarted it in case it was a RAM issue. Still no good.
