Highly recommend "search.ch" for Swiss weather.
Meteosuisse is awful, and they retroactively correct it to make it look like the forecasts were right! ;)

The one I used the most was Wetter Alarm which combined a few sources and gives webcams for peaks and resorts.

But now iOS16 gives us nice alert popups - and it seems accurate for my area - and I'm a sucker for the animations - I'm going with that.

Will have a look at search.ch tho, cheers!

So far, I've found Apple's default weather app under-reads the temperature by 1-3°C whereas search.ch gets the temp right.
Just curious: how do you know it’s not the Apple temp that’s correct? I’m not saying it is, but when presented with 2 temps, absent an objective “scorekeeper” such as an accurate thermometer, how can you tell which is right, especially at such small increments?

We have buildings in the centre of town that have thermometers on them, and I have one on my balcony.

A few days ago when the centre of town got to 36-37°, Apple told me it was 34.

IPSW here as well, but still seeing this on the 13PM. Also seeing a lot of background usage for Mail. Don't want to reset settings this close to the next beta..
When an apps does something like this I offload the app and reinstall it. 9 times out 10 that sorts the issue. If it doesn’t, I report it.

Can anyone with a Peacock subscription please try using the app and see if it works? Launching the app shows me the splash screen with the Peacock logo, but as soon as it starts to display the home screen it crashes to desktop. Tried deleting and re-installing the app. Loads fine to the login screen, then lets me choose which profile and as soon as I choose, it crashes to desktop again.
Exact same behavior for me, including after deleting and re-installing. iPad Pro 11 (2018).

Edited to add: It works fine on my iPhone 13 mini, but it crashes trying to load the user home screen on my iPad.

If you select the astronomy theme, is the image of the moon just never supposed to change? The names above the lockscreen times changes, but the moon hasn’t since I applied this weeks ago.
yes it should but unlike the Earth one, the Moon's day is 29.5 days long so it'll take a couple of days to notice anything.

Hey guys! Reading this topic since some time, but now I’m in too. Anyway, I used 3u tools to flash the 2nd public beta(b4 for devs) and the strange thing is that it hasn’t astronomy wallpaper. Plus, I’m getting Apple News working and should not since I’m in Italy. Lastly this beta has serious problems with monitoring battery, it states wrong on screen time and talking about battery, not terrible but the phone is constantly hot, not burning hot but hot. Maybe it’s the weather, maybe some processes open in the background. Ah sorry, I’m on iPhone XS.

Where did you obtain the ipsw file you installed with 3u Tools?

Thanks. I will just keep at it I guess, but it’s been at least a week already. All I have is a large, grey half-circle of the moon and it hasn’t changed.

Edit: Now the earth, moon, they are all appearing on the right side of the screen vs. coming out of the left side before (when you select the one where they’re really big). Strange how it just changed like that.

The dev didn't code correctly I think. Astronomy might not be their forte. I reported bugs with the astronomy widget and found another yesterday when it comes to moon rise & set times.

Few SMS messages show up on Notification Centre as expected. If the notification is clicked then it opens up the thread in messages app.
but the conversation are not shown in Messages app list.

Can you elaborate please.
The code released for beta is simply a snapshot at a point in time. It may have new bugs, or regressions on old bugs, and features may be missing, incomplete or broken more than they were in prior betas. This is a normal part of software development. The goal is to be stable and complete at the public release.

Is the moon supposed to switch sides? It went from the left side of the screen to the right, but the image used for it has remained the same. It hasn’t changed for me…

Same here... now I find myself checking both just to make sure... definitely annoying.
Yeah iOS 16 has completely ruined the weather app for me. Forecasts are completely incorrect. Temperature is showing 5 degrees higher than it actually is. I’m hoping this all gets sorted out but current state, weather is completely unreliable.

I guess I’m not sure if this is even an iOS 16 issue or if I should just stop using the weather app going forward and use a different service because Dark Sky is that bad.

I'm going to guess it's an iOS 16 issue and that there is a LOT of work going on in the background. The weather app on a non-beta device is spot on (in my case, anyway). In addition to that, I've noticed that on iOS 16, when looking at cities that I have saved that are in different time zones, the sunrise/sunset times are showing in MY timezone. I could pull up a location in California and instead of it saying sunset is at for instance 8pm...it's showing as 10pm.

I don't want to think it's a Dark Sky issue because it has usually been one of the more accurate ones in my area (and when looking at the inaccuracies since coming to iOS 16, it HAS gotten better...but still not quite to the accuracy I'm seeing on a non-beta device). I guess time will tell

Weather apps are likely to be off by couple degrees or so, as no matter what app you're gonna use, it's going to be based over an area, not exact to your precise point, so it depends on how they report that. My mate's house, under 1/4 a mile away, the thermometer he has in his garden, which was the same make as the one I have in mine, reported slightly different temperatures.

Tl;dr - Weather apps might be a couple degrees off. Only way to have the precise current temperature is have your own thermometer. Obsessing over the app having to be exact is just the gateway to madness.....

Well, for me, the Apple weather is wrong and the search.ch weather is correct. Maybe someone who lives on the other side of town finds the opposite true. Good for them 😄

I am returning from holiday on Wednesday and immediately going for the iOS 16 beta. Hopefully beta 5 at that time. It’s about time Apple switch to a weekly beta releases. I have been looking forward to the new iOS since the dub-dub presentation. 🤓🤓
