Unplugged my iPhone at 100% before sleeping, woke up to 89%.

Damn find my and Siri again! Just like on iOS 15 before.

Also it doesn’t take much heat for the iPhone to stop charging or turning the display brightness down. It’s barely 24 degrees (C)) outside, I am in the shadow but I can barely read anything because the display brightness went all the way done. Last night I wanted to charge it to 100% and it refused because it was apparently too hot to continue charging, while in the room.
If I were you I’d do a factory reset and start fresh rather than pinning your hopes on the next beta. I did and it fixed my data drop issue I’d been having for months.

I found one very annoying bug today in Messages app.

I didnt know that I had received a text message, no notification or badge. When I opened Messages app I saw unread message, but as soon as I saw it the message disappeared in thin air. It didnt go to deleted messages folder because I couldnt see it in the dropdown menu.

This is kinda critical bug, this makes you miss important messages.

Im reporting this to Apple.

I am experiencing a bug on the iOS 16 beta where my phone is locking itself despite the auto lock setting being set to “never” - I have now noticed this happen on 3 separate occasions.

The first two times it happened immediately after invoking Siri using the lock button, so I thought it may be related to that.
I first noticed it earlier in the week when I was still on beta 4, but I had just woken up and asked Siri something and it was really early. I was like hmm that’s weird I KNOW I didn’t intend to lock the phone but maybe I was just tired and hit the lock button by accident or something without even realizing it. Oh well.

Now I’m on beta 5 and it happened again the other day, again after using Siri while I was in the car. I KNOW I didn’t lock the device after Siri answered me. But there I was, staring at the Lock Screen again.

Now it just happened again this morning. Didn’t even invoke Siri this time. Didn’t even touch the phone. Just put it down for a minute, looked at it again and it was locked.

What gives? Has anyone else experienced this yet?

For reference, I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max

I would consider and report this as a bug. It sounds like unintended behavior.

Anyone notice this? While charging iPad with pencil attached, pencil drains. Unplug and pencil charges.

I haven’t noticed it at that level of detail but I have noticed several times that the Pencil is much more discharged than I would expect it to be given my fairly minimal usage. I’ll keep an eye on seeing if it’s happening on mine like yours.

Yes, I definitely reported it in the feedback assistant as it’s kinda frustrating (I rarely lock my iPhone) so I hope this gets fixed in time for the iOS 16 GM

I did get one response on r/iOSbeta saying they’ve been experiencing this as well so I hope they also submit a report.

Just put ios16b5 on my 13 pro max and now the screen won't timeout on its own anymore. Tried a few hard shut downs, changes the timeout time but it hasn't worked.

AirPods Pro paired with iPad (regular, ninth-gen) still head-track, sadly. And yes, I have the Accessibility > AirPods setting toggled off. This has been a bug throughout all 16.0 betas that I can remember—possibly even extending back to later versions of 15. Perhaps the iPhone does it, too, but I tend to watch longer video content on the iPad (while using AirPods), often with the tablet in a stationary position, so maybe it’s just more noticeable. But yeah, it’s there.

Never for any length of time have I toggled on head-tracking or Spatial Audio crap. At best it’s an irritating gimmick and at worst it muddles and warps the dynamic range of audio output. I wish Apple would finally fully address these issues for those of us who wish to completely disable such audio “features.” I know I said the HomePod bug was fixed but when listening to Atmos-enabled tracks on the smart speakers yesterday, while they did sound better/less “spatialized,” the Dolby Atmos logo still appeared underneath the playing track in Music whereas it didn’t before on iOS 15. Annoying nonetheless.

Yeah, battery life on this build is so good.

5h 25m of screen time today and I’m still at 40%

I’m having the exact opposite issue, I have the auto lock set to never and it randomly seems to lock itself anyway

Just a general note, especially to newer members of the forum or newer beta testers: if you’re seeing something occurring on your device while running a beta and it seems wrong or unintended…it probably is.

We see a lot of posts here with people asking questions about whether something is intended or not. If you haven’t read about it being a feature, it’s probably a bug and while asking about it to see if others are experiencing it might be helpful, your intuitions are probably right, and you should report it.

Bottom line: better to over report than to under report.

Just tested using iPad Pro 2020 and you are right. The pencil stops charging for me.
WTF?!?
Ok phew thought I was crazy. The first time I thought maybe I forgot to attach it. Now I was on the third time. That’s just a weird bug. Here’s my report so you can cross reference and @gwhizkids

The double media player on lock screen is becoming more frequent and annoying.

As annoying is the stupid shrinking of the timebar and the removal of any end knob or button. I’ve accidentally dragged to open the camera so many times, when all I’m trying to do is rewind the song back…

I've noticed on PB3 that when connected to a bluetooth speaker, UI sounds such as long press clicks and the chime when you start charging play on the device (quite loudly too) despite the silent switch being set to silent. When you disconnect the speaker, the phone goes back to being silent again.
