iOS 16 Beta 8 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Could this have the security fix that came in 15.6.1…..

We won't find out for sure until either:

1. A security researcher familiar with the vulnerabilities runs tests against the latest betas and posts the results
2. The public release, when Apple will post a support page containing a list of vulnerabilities fixed in the final release build (which will be linked to from here).

They haven’t fixed the Astronomy widget for Moon Phases. A New Moon should be inverted. This is more Full.
The phases should be 🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

I hope the next beta fixes the issue where the Home app picks the wrong Home that‘s a few Kilometers away (it keeps defaulting to my parents home here with location switching turned on). At least the Feedback app says there‘s a potential fix incoming.

Still not fixed, so this is part of the RC nice.

Yeah, this is definitely an odd choice — my guess is that the standalone iTunes Remote app doesn't have the same hooks into the system as the Apple TV Remote feature (which is unsurprising, considering it hasn't been updated in two and a half years), and for some reason they haven't integrated Mac/Windows Music/iTunes app remote control into the latter.

UPDATE: didn't really fixed it. Still very warm below and to the right of the camera. Going to try a few more hard reboots.

Try a hard restart a couple mins after closing all the apps and if that doesn’t fix it you could try resetting just the Settings.

Can’t speak to that. Maybe someone else with a deeper insight could chime in. FYI I’d been updating via OTA since beta 4 and haven’t had any issues so far.

Same cr*p. Screen captures still go to different places. Can’t decide what band it wants to be on LTE or 5G. Hoping this is not the RC but I have a bad feeling it is.

EDIT. Wi-Fi now won’t stay on. Resetting network settings again. Don’t understand nothing changed on the last two betas for modems or carrier settings….

Now on beta 8 but each time I hard reset or even a normal reboot I get a notification badge on the phone app, then goes away after a few seconds. Now reported. Been happening I think since beta 7.

Just because the apple event is next week, doesn't mean that iOS 16 goes live to the public that same day. They very well could have another RC build after this. Not trying to speculate but it is not uncommon for iOS major release dates to not align on the same day as hardware unveils.

Can’t have “another RC build” after this because beta 8 is not an RC. It may become one next Wednesday but not yet.

Okay, wow: haptic feedback when swiping up to go home is practically non-existent. I’m not sure it was so attenuated on beta 7.
