I just woke up to an unresponsive iPhone that was plugged in to charge overnight. This is the second time this happened, last time a few weeks ago with an older beta.
Only way to get it working again was a hard restart.
I’ve had a couple of panics like that on an SE2, but just had a new version install that appears to be a GM version
“iOS 16.0 (20A5358a)
This update includes improvements and bug fixes for your iPhone.

20A5358a is my build, too. So this has not fixed it.

I cannot delete an location in the Weather app.
If i delete an location ( Amsterdam ) , close the weather app and reopen it, the location is back.
Annoying.
Only happens when you begin from scatch, so if you restore or install via ipsw file.
When i did the update OTA , everything is ok.

This one is buggier on my 13 Pro Max compared to Beta 7. I see apps that were fine before hanging until I force close them, widgets not loading or refreshing, etc.

Not a GM version. As a matter of fact, Apple doesn’t use the term GM any longer. It uses RC, “release candidate”, and this was also not an RC.

13 ProMax
Notes locked with FaceID
- not seeing this on the iPad Pro 11 -

When I go into a locked Note and once done as I relock it (click the padlock) I am now getting a request to switch to Passcode use instead of FaceID. Not getting this on the iPad, just the iPhone. Don't remeber seeing this before in this beta.

Or did I just miss it?

I thought it was weird so I took a screenshot the first time I saw it.

Another point for OTA! 🤣😆
I mean its basically coming in on the final release 😂🤣
With good reason from the looks of things here.

Sketchy wallpaper process,Wi-Fi/connectivity issues, random lockups overnight, incorrect weather data, etc. etc.. I almost decided to stay on 15.6.1 myself. But decided to try 16 while I could still roll back to 15.6.1 if it really was as bad as I have been seeing. Turns out it’s actually ok other than at least once I had to reboot to restore connectivity (neither Wi-Fi or cellular data would work). Otherwise seems ok and not seeing all those other reported issues.

I'm convinced the WiFi/Cellular connectivity is a bigger issue than just iOS 16. My wife and I have had non-stop issues with iOS 15.6.1 and internet connectivity. Can make phone calls just fine, but all data stops, doesnt matter if its on WiFi, cellular or hotspot. i've been having to reset network settings on a daily basis to get it to reconnect. We've done everything short of a full restore.

Normally I would chalk it up to being a random one-off bug, but the fact that we are both experiencing it.

I find it simply sad that with a WiFi 6e system and a houseful of WiFi hungry devices, it is the iPhone / iPad that I have the most issues with.

What device? I am still using an XR and have not had any of those connectivity issues up through 15.6.1. But yeah same issue as you on 16. BTW good to hear from ya. Been a while.

Both devices are iPhone 13 Pros. We updated them the day 15.6.1 dropped and the issues began immediately thereafter.

Lawyer life has kept me very busy. I try to check in and follow the threads from time to time. This time of the year is always exciting!

Anyone experiencing an issue with rotation (landscape) specifically with the Blink app? Landscape flashes and goes weird with black boxes but never rotates around. YouTube/YouTube TV seems ok so far. Not sure if Blink needs an update or if there is some other issue with rotation on this beta.

What device? No Landscape on my 13PM. Does work on my iPad.

Since I see so many posts about battery life I thought it was relevant that I removed my cellular iPad Pro from the charger this morning about 6:30am and just checked it now a few minutes ago - 9:15pm and on standby that entire time, we’ve been traveling and just got to the hotel, it‘s on 98% battery. I can’t complain at all about this 16.1 beta.

Am having the same or similar issue on both 15.x and 16.x with my 13. I found toggling airplane mode will fix it till the next time. Interestingly though I discovered quite by accident that when data appears to drop out and cellular does not pick up, I happen to receive an email. How can that be if data is dropped out ? It appears to only be outgoing data, weird. Now when it happens I sometimes leave it and find it reconnects after usually several minutes. Annoying as hell in any case.
Also I have performed 2 full factory resets and setting up again as a new device only to find that the issue goes away for a week or 2 before creeping back in. This is the most annoying iPhone I have ever had.

Interesting. I have had this issue on my 12 Pro but only at work. I assumed it was ATT's network in the town I work in. I have been using the airplane mode trick for awhile, which does work. No issues that I can report on Wifi though, at least my network.

I found that battery drain was worse on 5G auto with this beta. Switching to 4G and the battery is now stellar. For betas I normally upgrade with the ipsw and not ota.

Those that are having Wi-Fi /Cellular connectivity issues I had to reset network settings twice and seemed to fix my issue on my phone.. My phone has been spot on since these resets.. Have a great day. !!
