Interesting that 16.1 beta 1 came out to both dev and public testers within a day. Then less than a week beta 2 to both again. So already on weekly builds after beta 1. Perhaps 16.1 is the "next weeks release" that's been promised. And since iPad never saw 16.0............... Just sayin. :)

Not....Apple needed to fix some pretty major issues. Even if beta's, I think they felt pressure to make it right if possible.

Prediction...will be at least week of 10/10 before we see official release of 16.1.

X.x releases tend to go weekly quicker than x.0 releases. Plus 16.1 is more a continuation of 16.0 due to iPadOS. So you’re reading a bit too much into the weekly releases meaning it’ll come next week.

Next week will be 16.0.2. 16.1 will be October-ish, maybe November, with new iPads.

16.0.2 for all relevant models, or just the 14 range?

Pleasantly surprised. IPSW is also available now. WatchOS 9.0.1 should be available soon.

Edit: Nevermind, WatchOS 9.0.1 is only for the Ultra.

Odd for a late day public release.... but I'll certainly take it!

I think this falls into my category of “serious bug and/or affects lots of people”. Those types will see fixes posted any time, even on a Saturday in (at least one) rare instances.

Certainly it is fairly serious, given the camera’s importance to the ecosystem. Reviews are still coming out and they don’t want any stinkers resulting from this.
