It’s a carrier restriction, not Apple. They can only release the carrier update as per their request.

Basically, blame the carrier, not Apple.
The 5G thing is why they are saying there is going to be a 16.0.3 monday. But if there is going to be a 16.1 RC monday there is literally no point

Yea, but the carrier could have provided the carrier update to Apple for a previous update, especially if they support android for 5G for a while. So, really, it’s the carrier at fault, not Apple, since 5G has technically been supported by iOS for years.

That’s my point.

All I want is 5G enablement Carrier Update so that this damn iPhone 12 which was pompously announced to be 5G ready can work on 5G networks of India. Bloody hell $200 Androids have working 5G with Gigabit speeds where as all iPhone users in India can't yet latch on 5G network. What a frikking shame Apple !!!
Which carrier in India is providing already 5G please? PM Modi launched 5G on the first October 2022. Ask the carriers and not Apple for the network.

When do betas usually switch to Monday releases? Is there any pattern to that?
The only "pattern" this year seems to have been to mess with us all by there not being a pattern. We've had maybe two or three Monday beta releases? But more on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for sure. Nothing that resembles a pattern this year, though.

Asked carriers and they send out a tweet that iOS update is required to enable 5G on iPhones 12 and up.
My friend on Samsung Galaxy S22 already has Airtel 5G on his phone btw.

This is the distribution of releases through the end of July for iOS 15 and 16. Monday releases are pretty uncommon

I'm changing my prediction from the week of the 24th to the week of the 31st or week of the 7th. Apple has said SOS via Satellite is coming in November via a Software Update.

So November 1-4 and 7-10th are the most likely drop dates. The 11th is Veteran's Day.

It's Columbus day, apparently. Is that a good enough reason for not releasing anything? Erm.... no.

The fact it did not come out today makes me think it does not exist. They had ample time to be able to release it by today and didn't.

This update provides bug fixes and important security updates for your iPhone including the following:

Mail crashes on launch after receiving a malformed email
