Happy Mondays here on in! 😎

No Ventura beta? Was hoping to see to a fix to the mail scheduling email 40 years in the past bug (which makes powerd use 100% of cpu) or the thumbnail generation bug fixed.

I'm not seeing anything for macOS, either. Was really hoping for something today, but there's a better chance we're still on a two week schedule with that.

I am not contradicting myself, perhaps I have not expressed myself well with my limited English. One of the reasons Apple gives for having public betas is to make them more stable. and this year, and some more in the past, the public betas have started hand in hand with the most unstable developer betas, especially beta 4 this year. That's why I reaffirm myself, if the public betas start in June, practically nobody will get into the developer branch, but Apple doesn't want to and the people who want to try it as soon as possible download the profiles.

Well, I can see why Apple does it this way, in stages. The developers need longer to ensure their apps work well with the upcoming release, plus pay Apple their fee for it. So it is logical they get first in line. As to the quality of betas themselves, there have indeed been cases when later betas caused more issues than earlier ones. This is why Apple warns everybody not to install betas on the devices people cannot do without. We willingly jump into a beta train, with all its excitement and bugs. The whole beta testing process for public should be fun, IMO, otherwise what’s the point? And when any beta hiccups occur, we can either go back to iOS 15.6, stable as a rock, or hope that the next beta will fix it.

I’m expecting a Monday weekly schedule moving forward. It would be odd to move to Monday to establish a weekly schedule and then shift to another day. Possible of course, though.

Although it did come out on a Monday this week, do not assume that's always going to be the case going forwards. Every year Apple keeps us on our toes and mixes it up.

I’m not sure Apple has ever specifically said why it waits. We presume that’s why but I don’t think we know that for certain. And as pointed out, even for public betas, while it is presumably fairly stable, the FAQs still come with the following caveat:
I was going to say the same, Apple haven't actually said why as far as I know, so people are just presenting assumption as facts, which is a flawed point.

Might be on two-week schedule due to the fact it's not due till October. I don't think that one is on Apple's prioritization list.

MacOS tends to come out a little later most the time (like an hour or so), so it could be weekly, but just not out yet. From memory though, I don't think MacOS went weekly when iOS did last year. Never say never though.....

I think it’s safe to say that developer betas and public betas will be published on the same day from this week until final release

I saw that there was a beta 6 for WatchOS but I didn't get the public beta for the watch. Has anyone else?

So, with Apple supposedly doing an event on the 7th September, we can expect the iOS 16 RC that day as well, based on the past times.

There’s was 2 weeks between last beta and the RC last year, meaning that developer beta 7, expected next week, could be the last beta…… there’s a slight chance we might get DB8 though.

What’s going to be interesting is iPadOS. If it really is coming in October, will it stay weekly betas? That could see us going to Beta 13 or higher!

Was the RC different of Beta 7? I can't remember

I think we are still at 2 weeks. I see the remaining cadence as:

Beta 5: Tues August 9
Beta 6: Tues August 16
Beta 7: Tues August 23
Beta 8: Tues August 30
iPhone announcement and RC: Tues Sept 13
Public iOS release: Monday September 19
iPhone deliveries: Fri Sept 23

Looks like I added too many weeks here! I think the schedule still generally holds (but substitute Mondays for Tuesdays). This would mean that there is no awkward 2 week period between the last beta and the RC.
