With public betas available to anyone for free, I do not understand what the attraction of side-loading these IPSW files is nowadays. Just to get the same beta a few weeks/days/hours earlier?

Exactly that. People want the new software now, not a week/day/hours later.

We live in an impatient world these days because we can get anything we want, when ever we want it.

Must be nice. I did that last weekend. Went to Oxnard but it wasn’t long enough. Came back to a nice suprise of the beta. Need a longer vacation to distract myself. I am going to New York City on September 1st, ☺️
Nice! That’s funny, Denver on the 1st here. Yes, you need a longer distraction to hold you over 😂 I hope I’ll be coming back to a phone, not a beta

Still thinking Tue or Wed schedule moving forward…weekly…

And this popped up this morning. Hah.

If the public betas started in June, as I think they should, many of us would not get into the developer branch. but making us wait a month, and then releasing the most unstable betas to the public, especially developer 4, makes no sense as to the excuse that they don't release them sooner so that the general public has a few more builds stable.

and going back to the topic of the thread, I hope they launch the new one today, although it wouldn't surprise me if apple launched it on Thursday to play with us hehe

You seem to contradict yourself here, wanting both the early and stable beta at the same time. ;) The whole point of a beta software is fine-tuning it and getting rid of bugs.

When Beta Software is tested, sometimes code is used knowing it might fail or have some incompatible issue with something else, and normal interactions or workflows come to a screeching halt. That's why there's the disclaimer to not use these on your daily driver, YMMV, etc...

For all we know, maybe when some things seem broken, it's by design so something else later can be better/faster.
