iOS 16 Speculation Thread

Next release will most likely come AFTER the event has finished. And maybe like 10-15 min after, too. Like how releases tend to come out at the top of the hour, but then after caching and stuff it's more like 10-15 min later...
I think if we were to have another release, we would have had it on Friday.
We might still get an iPadOS beta on Monday or Tuesday, but iOS 16 is pretty much ready to go, so e should have its RC on 7 September.
monday is labour day so nothing tomorrow

Wednesday can’t come soon enough. Can’t believe we are just a little over 72 hours away till the world will witness the the release candidate for iOS 16. Long waited! ❤️

I agree 100% however it will be nice to see AOD in action, along with how iOS 16 will play its role with the new pill-shape design. I have a feeling those will be unveiled. Along with other tweaks we haven't seen just yet.
Agree, but I hope there is a different build. Connectivity, before the 2 network resets, had sucked for me, amongst other issues which have plague the community.

I highly doubt we’re getting anything for the iPad until after the event. Along with the iPhone RC.
I think you’re right. They’ll want to get the betas synced up again. So probably no iPad beta until there is also an iOS 16.1 beta as well.
Also the playback-buttons-lingering-on-control-center-dismissal bug that’s been there at least the last couple of betas. Can’t believe more people haven’t complained about it; no, it may not be functionally grave but it just looks shoddy.

Today is a bank holiday in the US. They’re not releasing a beta on Labor Day, 2 days before the new iPhones are announced.
I don’t think we will see a iPadOS 16.0. Unfortunately we will have to wait for iPadOS 16.1 to drop.
I think we're going to see the next iPadOS 16.1 release come along with the first release of iOS 16.1 beta 1.

Yea I was thinking that’s more likely than it coming with the RC of iOS 16.0 RC.
I've been reading all sorts online...is Monday 12th September likely to be the release date for iOS 16?
I would assume next week early at some point, yeah. What I've found over time is that we generally sit on the last update for maybe two weeks or so before the RC is released, and then there's been times where a 2nd RC is warranted and released later in the week after the Apple Event, like on a Thursday or Friday even sometimes. The RC should have all of the Logging and extra Developer/Beta stuff removed, and then time needs to pass with enough people using it to ensure there's no 'Gotcha' issues like Memory Leaks or something. Sometimes bugs aren't found right away because it might take days and days to happen.
But yeah, I'd say next Monday is a good bet.
