iOS 17 Said to Feature Wallet, Find My, SharePlay, and AirPlay Upgrades

AirPlay to a TV in a hotel would be reeeeeealy awesome!. in all my trips I end up watching regular cable because I can’t stream from my phone to the hotel tv. I see no way to do it without an Appletv compatible TV set… what a wasted feature just to be “closed eco”, we are the losers.

🤣 I've got an AirTag on my Keys & in my Car, also in my Daughter's Backpack. My Wife & I use it to show our daughter where we are when we're not there, too.

I use a lot of Digital Tickets & Passes in the Apple Wallet. I just recently went to a White Sox game and got in and around with my iPhone only. Digital ticket. Got all my beer & food with it, too. Plus when I buy movie tickets on Fandango, the ticket goes into my Apple Wallet. Easy to get to my Starbucks card to pay.. I use these two apps often.

Very interested to see what they’re doing with the Wallet app! First thing I’d like to see is real iPad/Mac integration. It’s so dumb having to go to Settings to see basic info that the app provides. Obviously we won’t be using our iPads at cash registers (at least I won’t, ahah) but with spending history and even package tracking now, there’s a lot more there that would be nice on my larger screens.

I’d love it if they could somehow add account balances and full transaction histories for all debit and credit cards added to Wallet. My friend‘s credit card (I think Chase, but I could be wrong about that) shows full purchase history for the account - even purchases made with the physical card. That and account balances would be really convenient. Although I’m sure it’s something that the bank needs to authorize…

I hope he’s right, because Wallet isn’t exactly user friendly. I hope they make it an icon on iPadOS instead of making me go to settings -> scroll down to Wallet -> and see a very slimmed down version

You could create a widget on ipados but ya it’s still a slimmed down version.

For the love of god, please let me assign AirTags to family members without buggering me about stalking. It doesn’t have to be on by default, and I know stalking is an issue, but make it better for both honest users and protect victims.

And get rid of SharePlay. I find it to be bloatware.

Added integration like mint where you can see all financial information including stocks, CDs…. Anything financial related that has a login.

It works for me on most hotel TVs using this button, I think usually I have to be on the hotel’s wifi also? I know it definitely worked last time I was at Disney

Wallet gets constant use for me with concert, movie & event tickets and store cards…

My eyes perked up when I saw AirPlay updates, hopefully Apple updates Airplay to properly work on Macs connected to the internet via a 10 Gbps Aquantia lan in a thunderbolt enclosure. Because as it stands, it is hit or miss today, some things work like Apple Music airplaying to the Mac, but others don't work, like Continuity Camera, or using the mac as a speaker for the Apple TV.

I hope the wallet on iPad will be revamped. Currently the UI for wallet access on iPad makes zero sense. You have to go into the Settings, then select Wallet to look at details for cards, etc. I get that the hardware to use iPad for "tap" payments doesn't exist, but it doesn't make sense from a user experience perspective that to access wallet details one goes to "Settings".

Please dear god let “airplay upgrades” mean a Spotify connect type feature. That’s the one thing Spotify really holds over apple music. Let me control what’s playing on my iPad from my phone

I would love to also see Apple Watch be able to do media controls on the iPad! It makes a lot of sense.

no one uses find my much and wallet, we just use Apple Pay but I never go into the app, we want exiting changes

I use Find My and Wallet.

I often use Find My to locate my husband and see if he's arrived at a certain far destination. I also use Wallet all the time to look at various transactions I made my my Apple Card or other accounts. I also use it to display QR or barcode for various grocery store cards.

Has anyone ever used SharePlay? I feel like every year they add useless stuff and ignore the things that are in dire need of attention.

Shareplay works great once going, but the execution / starting are clunky as heck.

I feel like if they do split screen it won't be till the iphone 15 release in September... Because you know current chips are "not powerful enough" for this feature. Even though 8-10 year old Android phones do it.

If you don't agree with sideloading or don't like the idea of it then just dont use it on your personal device... but why hope that its painful for others? If others choose to do it, that should not affect you personally.
