iOS 18.2: Everything You Should Know About Image Playground

OK - I am confused.

I installed iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and Sequoia 15.2 on my iPhone 16 Pro, iPad M4, and Mac Studio M1, and I was expecting to see the Image Playground app popping up, and I could then sign up… But I don’t even have the icon for the app anywhere.

Am I not supposed to at least see the icon?

This looks very AI-ish. I have been astounded by Ideogram.ai images though. Here is a sample I got for the following prompt: "woman in blue dress standing behind man dressed in black with black hat with her arms around the man"

Thanks, but that only puts in a pseudo-app on iOS and iPadOS - not the actual app. It doesn't take me to the sign-up, for instance.

And, I can't find the app for macOS.

This feature is the perfect example of something we can do in 2024, but forgot to ask if we want to. I’m sure the novelty will wear off very quickly.
 
Well my M4 iPad playground app did this for awhile I rebooted and now back old request status probably tried ot get me in but things are messed up with servers, or beta 1 of 18.2 ipadOS LOL Oh well

Yep got it an hour ago as well starting with just using photos to make emoji/sticker of me it does a poor job of modeling form my photos gonna take awhile to use it LOL

This apple intelligence which just copied whats out there is supposed to be the innovation we are all waiting for? Not to mention the ridiculous camera button on iphone everyone finds worse than useless.

Apple is out of ideas. I wouldn't be surprised they have weak iPhone 16 sales and revenue starts dropping for the first time in decades.

creepy? One way of looking at it, inelegant is more like it for me…or rudimentary….it’s the beginning of an era for apple users. Etc

Jumped from 14 pm to 16 pm and got to enjoy the device and its great battery for two weeks and some change before Apple intelligence released and I think that overall you couldn’t be further from the truth and that this has been a very exciting iPhone release, thus far..

Still waiting here in the UK. Installed iOS and iPadOS 18.2 beta 1, within in minutes of it coming out, on my iPhone 16 Pro and iPad Pro M1.

The storage usage for Apple Intelligence on my iPhone and iPad has been 3.15GB and 3.41GB ever since.

All this time you spent waiting you could’ve grabbed paper and a pencil and started learning to draw. Screw AI art.
 
I finally got access. Underwhelming . Go grab Draw Things free from the App Store. Better images, less items off limits, images that aren’t cartoons if you want them, higher res, photo realistic if you want and the list goes on and on. A waste of time if you ask me. Same with Genmoji. Remember Animoji? Fun for like a week. I haven’t made one or received one from anyone in years. The ChatGPT integration is the good stuff in 18.2. If I had an iPhone 16 instead of a 15 Pro the Visual Intelligence feature would be pretty useful as well I’d imagine. I’m sure there is no technical reason why it’s not available for iPhone 15 Pro and Max users. Apple has to make some features iPhone 16 only to move product after all…

Is access given to Apple ID or per device?

I requested access on my iPhone, on my iPad Pro and on my Mac Studio…
 
Got the invite today! Asked it to create an image of a duck and a cat playing with each other, and this is what I got 🤣

Fortunately, there's currently a feedback button - so I submitted feedback on the first one.
