Three hands strategically hidden, but the one they've kept visible is still deformed. Great progress.
Yeah well I’ll take the less than perfect hands over Apple’s cheap and childish illustrations (which are also without hands). Apple is so late to this that it’s embarrassing

I got the beta a few hours after it was announced …it took me about 15 hours but I got in. Not a Youtuber… just a dev.

GenMoji works great. I LOVE that. That is one of my new favorite features. Image Playgrounds? Eh…it's too basic. The only thing it's good for so far is portraits, but everything else is just too generic. Try to customize it and it ignores you. Add any level of specificity to your request and it ignores you.

That makes it nearly useless.

Here is an example. I gave it a photo of my pet…or even asked it to create a Siamese cat or Burmese cat or ANYTHING other than a tabby. It only creates tabby cats.

Not sure as most YouTubers only have Dev accounts for content and not development.
And location- I’m a developer ( with live apps ) don’t apply until yesterday and got approved within 10 mins. Could be that I’m in NZ or could be that I have active apps in the AppStore

I don’t think it’s because you have apps on the App Store because I have apps too and a friend also and we aren’t accepted.

Well this sounds like it’ll be amusing for two minutes.

Only compelling use-case for this is to send humorous images spur of the moment as a reaction to conversations in Messages etc, but is it fast enough for that? In a few generations maybe it’ll be instant, and as well as suggested replies including text (a feature I see absolutely no value in) they’ll include images.

More interesting prospect is future iPhones having good enough hardware to run open source image generators that we can use without all the restrictions.

I have tried ChatGPT image generation and Grok image generation and both seemed like lame gimmicks. This seems miles worse than both of those.

Am I the only one finding all these AI images creepy? What is apple intelligence providing that chatgpt or others don't already do as an app on iOS?

This apple intelligence which just copied whats out there is supposed to be the innovation we are all waiting for? Not to mention the ridiculous camera button on iphone everyone finds worse than useless.

Apple is out of ideas. I wouldn't be surprised they have weak iPhone 16 sales and revenue starts dropping for the first time in decades.
You’re definitely not the only one. In fact amid all the variables that go into an AI process and its result, it’s almost like an unwritten rule that whatever images are created MUST be creepy as hell. 😵‍💫

I have a very near pathological dislike of AI generated slop. Go to CNN and scroll to the bottom, and see all the ads for nonsensical electronic gadgets. AI chatbots talk at you like you are a two-year-old, “Enjoy this fantastic and whimsical image!”. Google image search is full of slop, good luck finding a real image of any animal. Chatbots are useless since whatever they say can’t be trusted.

Now using machine learning to figure out how proteins fold? That’s amazing. Stick to using machine learning to solve NP-complete problems, at least you can verify the answer is correct!

Great and all if I can actually get approved to use it. Still waiting. Since I’m not a YouTube influencer, I guess I don’t matter.

Apple also lowers your your priority if you
  • complained about 8gb of RAM being standard
  • wants USB-A ports on desktop Macs
  • enjoys attaching cables to your Mac
  • connects your iPhone to your Mac and back ups with Finder/iTunes
  • dislikes subscriptions
  • etc.
