iOS 18.2: Everything You Should Know About Image Playground

This is what midjourney looked like 2 years ago. Impressive that it’s running on the phone but pretty much useless and not interesting for me at this point. Genmoji is the part of Apple AI I think most people will like and use.

This looks cheap and tacky. I’m not even convinced this should be baked into the OS. If a third party app (and there are plenty around) releases this, it barely moves the needle.

The only redeeming quality is that the images of persons are generated in a privacy friendly way. God knows what these third party apps do with our faces.

does it work with iphone 15 Pro? seems like there was a debate about that.

Everything in beta is opt-in.

Apple doesn’t have to excuse anything until 18.2 reaches public release.

There’s no conditions stating devs are entitled to test anything specific in the beta tester program.

It sucks, sure. But it is what it is.

Yep I left the iUP program this year and loving my 15 ProMax just fine maybe a 17 PM next year or perhaps I will go to a 3 plus year cycle like I do with my other apple tech

Downloaded installed and signed up immediately when the first beta appeared. Still waiting to be accepted.
 
Am I the only one finding all these AI images creepy? What is apple intelligence providing that chatgpt or others don't already do as an app on iOS?

This apple intelligence which just copied whats out there is supposed to be the innovation we are all waiting for? Not to mention the ridiculous camera button on iphone everyone finds worse than useless.

Apple is out of ideas. I wouldn't be surprised they have weak iPhone 16 sales and revenue starts dropping for the first time in decades.

It dropped around 1PM EDT but it took forever for it to download on my devices. My MBA was first and I requested it from that.

Not sure as most YouTubers only have Dev accounts for content and not development.

Thanks seemed like those who got in were sorta random no pattern to those non media/youtube folks who like you got in. At least from the comments I am getting here and elsewhere. Maybe like i get here when I was on iUP now off and waiting for 17PM locally (another story for another time) the preorders were always late from whatever server nodes in Illinois connected to apple order servers. Or it just is a roll of the dice with this feature
